Replacing Non-JBL Nav unit with new unit.

I have a JBL head unit and am thinking I want to replace it with this:
OCG-K026T Radio DVD GPS Navigation Head unit for Toyota 4Runner
Searched the forum and didn't see anything about this unit.
Any information would be helpful.

Just to make sure you are aware, that is not an oem unit. Personally, I would stick witk Pioneer, Alpine or Kenwood if you go aftermarket.

For that price. No way. Get kenwood. Alpine or pioneer.

Off-brand Chinese junk. Avoid like the plague. It's probably assembled poorly and you'll get no after-sale service when it breaks.

(Save it. I know plenty of manufacturers make fine products in China. This isn't one of them.)

funny, I found a nice pioneer I liked for around 300. If you have th non JBL system you just need the simple harness and pre amp re-wire. I seen a post on here lemme see if I can find it...Bingo!

If it is JBL you have a little more work to do, this coming from a pro install shop. Not ME..I was just gonna do it and save myself the install price, but they were gonna do it for 50, so I may just go that route. Better than me messing it up!

Oh a common issue is your speakers wont sound as good(hence the pre amp re-wire) and radio stations won't be clear. Again, what the install shop was telling me.

Thanks for the replys. I was looking for a "Plug n Play" system but from reading your posts I think I'll find a shop to do the install and go with one of your HD suggestions.

some of the chinese brands are actually pretty good, but I would just go with one of the major brands.

Pioneer
alpine
kenwood/jvc
eclipse

stick with any one of these and you'll be good.

If you have the non-jbl system, it's pretty much plug-n-play with a harness.
