Resistance numbers for the IAC

Hi all,

I’ve recently had an issue with high idle, 1000rpms.

I found a post over on Yota Tech that states the resistance value for the IAC should be between 21 and 25 ohms. The reading I got was 19. Is there someone who has a FSM that can tell me what is an acceptable number?

I don’t want to start throwing parts at this.

On my 2000 fsm I got:
Cold - 17-25 ohms
Hot - 21.5-29.5 ohms

Cold = 14-122f iac coil temp
Hot = 122-212f iac coil temp

I couldn't find the iac resistance values on my 3rd Gen fsm but I had a document for a 5vz-fe 2000 tacoma. hope it helps

Have you tried cleaning it first?

Well, after putting in about an hour of testing voltage and resistance, I believe I found my issue.

When I first took my resistance cold, it registered 19.3 ohms. When I took it again hot, it came up 0.00 on my meter. I removed the coil from the valve itself and it moved freely. At that point I checked resistance again, it it was still 0.00.

Now to find a deal on an IAC.........
