Resolving problems with official vendors

Hello all,

I am having an issue with an official vendor on the forums here. I do not want to name them until I give them a bit more time to respond. I placed a very large (read: expensive) order and they have gone ghost. I have called, e-mailed, PM'd, left voicemails, etc.

I did not see a forum or a thread that details the proper channels to go through when attempting to resolve problems with vendors.

Please advise.

I will offer this, if they have became unresponsive the forum administrators need to remove them from the vendors list or you need to go public with their name shortly to prevent other members for the same experience....

Just my 2 cents

Camelback? Lol

No, it was not Camelback. It was a different vendor.

I have screenshots, all e-mail correspondence, an itemized receipt from the vendor, proof of payment and transaction from PayPal.

Needless to say I have documented everything, and should they decide to be difficult, I can easily expose them. The way they have literally stopped answering once they had my money disgusts me.

And now of course they're closed (it's after 5pm) where they are so I must wait until tomorrow before trying again.

By the way, they show an online status on the forums here, and have ignored my PM.

Please share so you can help other vendors become aware of any delays or bad customer service. Even if they answer, you can share that they have become responsive as a positive. Hold them accountable

Not much to add except you don't mention any timelines in your posts. Are we talking 'unresponsive' in the realm of a few hours, few days, few weeks?
I'd give them at least 48 hours to respond (which I know seems like a lot). If it's been longer than that, nothing wrong with holding them accountable.
You're being professional and diplomatic. Nothing wrong with the truth, just be professional. Oh, and remember it was a holiday weekend.

fug it... post up what company it is so those getting ready to hit submit on their order dont get screwed. You dont have to post details, just post the name and let the masses get them to respond

The vendors that are listed here enjoy no special status beyond being able to advertise here for a fee. You should handle any disputes with them the same way you would handle any dispute from any vendor no matter what the product. It is solely between you and them.

Now, if you want to post certain details of the dispute to let the members here know more about their business practices then by all means go ahead.

Everyone here knows there are two sides to every story so make sure you post only facts.

Good luck and hope it works out for you.

^^^ this. We all get a little unreasonable when we spend what is considered a bunch of money (to us).

Reality is... you are well protected from being ripped off.... (unless you paid with cash) If no response in 2 business days. Then you may have a reasonable beef... but my guess is you hit them on a holiday and simply have unrealistic expectations.

I've had great experience with several vendors who are listed as sponsors.

Metal Tech
RCI
AllPro
ToyTech

These are all long standing businesses with good reputations.

Update: The vendor reached out after business hours and shortly after posting this thread. He made mention that he had made a note in my account that he was the only person to talk to me (not sure why that happened) and there happened to be some confusion.

I understand it is a busy holiday so I told him no harm no foul.. he did offer to cancel the order should I decide and eat any shipping loss incurred, which I respect.

I do not understand, however, how the phones are not monitored as well as e-mail, etc.. If I keep calling, I know "nobody else is supposed to talk to me" but shouldn't they answer and offer to get me to the one person that can? Just seems funny.

Regardless, I am convinced they are not trying to scam me out of my money, and while communication has been spotty I am considering going through with the order.

Was none of those vendors.

I agree holiday weekend give it a week maybe they have a lot of orders/emails to catch up on because they had a half day on friday and yesterday off..

OP, I think you handled this the correct way by not outing the vendor. You gave them additional time to respond and they finally did. It does seem a bit odd that they didn't contact you but... Hope the rest of the transaction goes smooth for you.

Thank you, Voyager. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and would hate to ruin or tarnish the reputation of a business over a miscommunication or misunderstanding. I appreciate your well wishes.

Its not a perfect world....and there's no perfect people...
