Returning to High-Tech after 13 years

Hi everyone, new to the forum but hopefully soon to be the owner of a T4R Trail edition.

One of the things that brought me to this forum was all the praise and activity of High-Tech Auto & Truck center on this board.

My first vehicle back in HS was a beat up underpowered red Jeep YJ on 33's. Back around the summer of 2000 I believe, I managed to grenade the rear Dana35C out wheeling. Internet wasn't big then but I found High Tech in the Yellow Pages and towed it on down there. Bobby was a great guy to work with right from the start and explained what went wrong and all the options I could go with. I eventually chose to have him order a custom Tri-County Dana44 with a Detroit. Not very common back then and took a whole summers job's wages to pay for but Bobby kept me updated every step of the way.

High-Tech did a number of other jobs for me over the next few years until I sold the Jeep during college and got into diesels. They always treated me with respect and understanding though even being a HS kid.

It is GREAT to hear you are all doing better than ever and I hope to become a customer of yours again soon. (Though hopefully no blown ring & pinions!).

Bobby, I understand your out in the PNW now and wish you all the best!

Jeff, thanks for the praise. We are still here and still proving the same great service. Let me know if there is anything I can help you with

Thanks Scott!

I think I've got a long road to travel finding the right rig but I know that once it's mine I'll be down to see how things changed over the past decade.

Congrats on a great shop!

I think maybe it's time you post up some pics of the new ride!

I know, I know... been raining almost every other day here but im hoping to clean it up this weekend and get some pics. Got some family in the hospital at the same time too so I havent been able to be as active on here as I figured id be after bringing the new TE home.

anyways, pics soon, promise. And im absolutely thrilled with the rig, glad I went for the new '14 even without KDSS. Down the road I'll just have you guys work some magic on it

On a side note, does High-Tech do regular maintenance on 4Runners? Livimg situation prevents doing most PM stuff myself and not quite sure about the dealers around here.

c'mon Jeff, we replaced your entire rear axle in your YJ. What makes you think they can't change your oil? And I mean that in the most jovial way you can read it.

And I'm sorry to hear about the family thing. I'm actually headed out to Canada again because of a family emergency. Good luck with your situation.

Hahah, I know I know, actually it'll be nice not having to buy 3 gallons of oil each tme like the Superduty. Unfortunately, I'll probably be living in old town Alexandria by the second oil change time comes around with no garage or driveway to work from so I'll eventually have to have some of the maintenance done for me.

Thank for the well wishes Bobby, hope all works out for you as well.
