Reverse parking sensor installation

ive had mine for 3 years & its great. it starts beeping & flashing from stuff as far as 8ft away, it has 3 light (green thru red) & 3 beeping stages, yes the light turns red with a solid beep tone when ur 3 ft from something, but any one with decent driving skills should be able to judge another foot or so, i mean how close do u want to be, u cant be butt up against another car when parallel parking, gotta leave room for a car behind u to get out. when backing out of a driveway it sounds off if a kid or bike comes into path, for that alone its worth it! plus its a strong step that allows u to reach up top. plugs right in, comes with a lock, & can be taken out in a minute & used in another vec, if need be. bought mine off ebay for under 110, they cost alot more now. theres also a different brand of sonar step but i forgot the name.

Anyone with decent driving skills would have no need for back up sensors on a 4runner anyway, unless they drive with the cargo area filled to the roof frequently. Either way, seems to me that if there is a time they would actually be useful it would be within 3 feet when you can't actually see what's going on. For example, when you are trying to parallel park in a really tight spot and need to get within inches of the other cars.

sorry, u caught me in a mood & i can't let it go. guess u have never had large dog cages in back or not noticed a person in a blind spot or backed down a long driveway with a high fence, or backed into a tight parking space at night with very little lighting & not realized theres a short bumper pipe sticking out of the ground. point is no matter how much u use the mirrors or look all around there can always be someone or thing that goes unnoticed, theres nothing wrong with being extra cautious & using everything available for safety. personally, i also dont parallel park in a space that is real tight, dont know why u would want to squeeze into one & risk someone playing bumper cars with ur 4r when they pull out , but hey, since u decided to pick on me & imply how great u & ur skills are, im 100% sure my skills are just as good if not better than yours., in fact, i bet ive been driving longer than you've been alive. looks to me like u go thru the posts just to find people to put down , good way for a new member to start an argument & get banned. anyway must be great to be u, goodluck! oh sorry, u probably dont need any of that either. & just in case u have a witty comeback, :flipoff:
