youkefei- I did not feel the truck struggle at all out there. The Atrac does a pretty good job at getting you through some of the slippery terrain.

Unionjack- Hey John, That was my fault. I thought I had ATRAC engaged when I went into the frame twister and I didn't. That's just me still learning how to use the truck. By the time I realized it wasn't on I was just too deep into the mud. My fail.

No worries, but FYI you could have engaged it once in the melee and you should have been golden :bigok:

I did engage it but the truck was at the point of no return. I dug to deep of a hole in the mud and was stuck fully. The atrac was kicking in before we decided to finally pull it out.

Wow, gnarly hill. Ride, you said that you are are to off-roading, taking on that climb/decent is pretty impressive given any amount of experience. Sick pictures.

^Thanks man! I'm definitely new to offroading. That was only my second trip out. The 120 guys have been really helpful with teaching me the ways.


I finally got a hold of Bud over at Budbuilt and ordered some Bump out sliders in black with partial tread today. These should be arriving some time mid next week along with my Gobi Stealth rack from Gobi. Next week is going to be awesome! :drummer:

Oh and Ride, at 2:45 - the dac is actually really useful. I know we don't have trails, but it keeps you from having to ride the brakes - it's also good insurance for when you nail a bump your foot doesn't slip off and you go flying out of control.
I'm envious, you have hundreds of trails within an hour ride. Makes me really miss colorado

Foques- You have to try and get off road. These trucks were built to handle this type of terrain. It's really awesome to know how to use such a capable machine.

The visors held up fine. I did go through a car wash a few weeks back and they held up fine. No problems whatsoever.



Mike, The gobi rack should arrive in about a week or so. I sent in my Rigid SR40 last week so they can make a custom mount for it. It should turn out pretty sick. I'm excited to get the rack.

Budbuilt Bump out sliders

Budbuilt Bump out Sliders with full tread plating and black powdercoat

First off, Bud over at Budbuilt was a pleasure to work with. Kind of hard to get a hold of but after that everything was very smooth. The quality of these sliders are amazing. The fit, finish and look are perfect. These are the regular bump out sliders with full tread plating and black powder coat. I'm really glad I did not go with the beefy sliders because these seam plenty strong. Each weighs about 60 lbs. They're definitely hefty.

These sliders are perfect as a step. My fiance is now able to get in and out of the truck much easier. I will test out how well they work as sliders hopefully this weekend. Overall, I'm completely satisfied with what I got from Bud.

Those things are SICK! Make me want to get a set and sell my Shrockworks. How many legs are connected to the frame? 3? The full plate look is nice too!

How close does the bump out come to the bottom edge of the rear door as it passes over?

Thanks for the comments guys. I love em. I haven't received a response about the other 5th gen Bud products but hope to get one soon.

Mike- there are 4 legs in total. Each pair of legs are welded to a plate which then bolts to the chassis. I originally ordered the partial tread but something happened during powder coating and they got messed up. I'm glad I went with them because I love the look.

the door clears the bump out by about 3/4" when opening.
