**RiDE T4R Build** 2011 LE Zombie Crusher

Thanks Mark! This applies to 5th gens also right? Do I have to extend the brake lines when going to the 3.5" rear springs? Hopefully Dlak or Bflan will chime in.

Thanks for the links.

No need to extend, I've fully flexed mine out numerous times with no issues at all.

With my work load I knew I wouldn't have been able to set aside a day to install the new suspension until about mid early March so I pussed out and brought the truck in to have the ICON stuff installed today. Sorry for those who were waiting for a how to.

First impressions: The truck feels like a different truck. It looks and feels like a REAL truck now. I haven't pushed it to much because I still need to get the alignment done tomorrow morning but the ride from the shop to home was amazing. I definitely felt the difference through turns and ride quality. I'll report back with a better assessment but so far I am very happy with the purchase. Plus, the parts look amazing under the truck.

Here are the pre and post measurements of the truck. I averaged the driver and passenger side measurements to get 1 solid number. I'd imagine the suspension is still going to settle as they break in. Overall im ecstatic about the results and look of the truck.

STOCK
front- 35.13"
rear- 37"

ICON Stage 5
front- 38.69"
rear- 39.44"

Lift
front- 3.56"
rear- 2.44"

Here's a terrible cell phone pic of my now favorite part of the truck. I'll get some high-res pics up soon.

Well done but I would say crank the fronts down a tad but just my opinion. You are going to be super happy. Stuff is super blingy. What tires and wheels are you going to go with?

Thanks Mike. I didn't touch the height on the coilovers. The directions said they ship these guys out with a 2" lift but it definitely doesn't look like it. I'm guessing it will settle?

I think i'm going to go with the same wheels I have now but in 18's. I want to run the 295/65 Duratrac's.

Truck is awesome Mark! You're going to love your Icon setup! Just wait until you get your new tires, afterwards you won't be able to stop looking at your truck! Happens to all of us. LOL

Thanks man! I got it aligned today but I have to go back so they can adjust the caster. I think I read somewhere on here to adjust the caster to 4* to clear 33's? Is that right? I'm rubbing the back of the front wheel wells at full lock.

I picked up some Rigid LED's today at an unbelievable price at the truck show in San Mateo. If anyone is looking for Rigid lights, get over to the show tomorrow for the last day. You can get everything Rigid for 15-25% off retail.

I ended up getting a SR-40, SR-20 and 2 sets of Dually white floods. Now I gotta decide on a rack. ;)

Watch your CV Angles with that amount of lift to make sure your boots don't pinch too much. On my OW setup I barely have mine cranked down and have about 2.75 inches of lift.

I'm going to lower them once I get the spanner wrench. Icon really needs to include a spanner wrench with their kits. Adjustable coilovers should come with the tool to adjust them especially when they cost this much. This might be my only complaint about Icon. Otherwise, everything is awesome.

I have a dual battery question. With my light setup being 1 Rigid SR40, 1 Rigid SR20, 2 Rigid Dually floods for the sides and rear, Bi xenon HID lows and HID stock fogs will I need to look into adding a dual battery setup? I'm thinking I don't since the LED's should have a lower draw then typical lights but I'm just not sure. Anyone care to chime in and educate me?

Not sure about 33's, but I moved mine close to 4 for better steering control. The results with my tires, no lift, are discussed below.

Are you talking about the part of the wheel well closest to the front door, or the front bumper?

If the front door, moving your tires forward to 4, with a lift may be OK, or you may start rubbing the in inner wheel well fender closest to the front bumper. (Depending on where your caster is set right now) Especially at full lock in reverse. If that happens, depending on the amount of rub, just adjust the inner wheel well fender forward. You will only be able to adjust about 1/2 inch, but that may be enough.

By moving the caster forward, you should experience better steering control. I did, much better actually. Was not nearly as "touchy "Good luck. Be Safe

Will you *need* it? No. Will it be helpful for other things aside from running your lights? Yes. Didn't you mention something about getting a winch soon? If so, you again don't *need* one for a winch either, but it takes the load off of your main battery and puts it on your aux battery.

I plan on installing one in the near future for a few reasons: backup starting power, to run lights, and to run accessories when my vehicle isn't running. A couple of us here are getting-in on this group buy: Group Buy - IBS Dual Battery Systems [Closes 2/29/12]

Keep in mind that's just for the wiring; it doesn't come with an extra battery or battery tray. The only clean solutions for an extra battery tray I've seen so far (though rumor has it Bud Built is putting one together now) is the ABR tray from Australia (like ~$300 shipped just for the tray...) and the one Harper7 made.

Mark, Maybe ask Larry at Dirty Parts to hook you up with a spanner wrench, since you spent some serious dinero at his shop. ;):

So I had them adjust the caster to 2.5* and there is no rubbing at all anymore. Very excited about this. Hopefully I don't rub once I get my 295/65-18's on in the next week.

I will end up going with a dual battery setup eventually. It's definitely not a priority right now but I do want to get this all done before attempting a MOAB trip. ;) That GB is definitely a good deal but the timing is off. Hopefully I can find a deal when the time comes.

These are my plans for up and coming mods:
- Roof Rack- can't decide between Baja or Gobi
- Install my Rigid LED's
- Waiting for Shrockworks bumper, skids, sliders
- Winch
- Dual Battery setup
- Removable rear drawer setup similar to Mikey's setup
- RTT
- Fridge
- LED Rear tailights :)

Baja Utility FTW!

Brock, I am seriously considering that rack. I want a full size rack for sure. It's between the Baja utility, Baja long or Gobi Stealth. My Rigid SR40 will mount and look better on the front of either Gobi IMO. Do you have a picture of the front of your rack taken from the side? I want to see if the SR40 would fit under the fairing.

What do you mean by "under"? Between the fairing and the roof like a sandwich? Or in front of the fairing's leading edge? For the former it will not work. There's *maybe* 1/16" clearance between the rack and the roof at the fairing's leading edge for the rack that Brock and I have (Full Length Utility). If you mean in front of the fairing that may work, but it would likely require some sort of custom bracket. Easiest thing would be to mount it on the light tabs just behind the fairing (sorry I don't have better pics for you now -- not currently with my truck):

Thanks for the info Mike. I was looking for a pic of the clearance between the rack and the roof line. Maybe I can talk Baja into extending the entire rack an inch longer so I can install the SR40 between the roof and the fairing. I feel aesthetically and aerodynamically that would be the best place for a 40" long bar. I'd be looking at making a custom bracket for the bar to.

There is room under the fairing on the regular full length Bajarack for mounting the SR. I am planning on putting an e-series there eventually.

Gotcha. The clearance between the rack and the roof is so tight you'd be hard-pressed to get a 12 AWG between the roof and the rack. I've seen some Jeeps with the SR-40s mounted right at the top of their windshield and it looks pretty good. Like this:

You could probably fabricate something that would drop the light down from whichever rack you go with rather than post it up like on the jeep mount.
