when you installed your Spidertrax 1.25" wheel spacers/adapters, did you use any Loctite?
and how often did you recheck the torqued lug nuts to ensure they did not loosen?
have you noticed anything with regard to your axle seals?

Yes, loctite came with the spacers. Only had them on for a few months and I have never checked. Prob a good idea when it's warm again?

No issues with axle seals.

Btw, I have that same GNU (Rider's choice) and LOVE it. I'm a big fan of Mervin Industries stuff - I have the Gnu and a Lib Tech T-Rice deck for big mountain stuff :thumb:

Mervin boards are awesome! First board I ever owned was a Lib Tech Jamie Lynn. I took it to Big Bear/Snow Summit out in Cali after the X-Games one year and came up short on a water gap and she snapped. Even though the board was over 2 years old, they replaced it for nothing! Since then I owned obviously, (2) Jamie Lynn's a Joey Mcguire and now my Pickle Power GNU.

9th mod
Sport hood install:

Couldn't wait so I had my brother come over and help me with this in the middle of the night.
Very easy with only 4 bolts, but I needed a second hand to line things up.

Here it is next to another 4Runner @ Wawa.

On top of scoring the sport hood, I managed to get another mirror (mine had a slight crack), set of OEM lights (for me to complete my retrofit) and a set of 02' rear tail lights.

Here was the donor truck R.I.P.
The truck in the back is where I snagged the tail lights from.

10th mod:
2002 tail light swap

I didn't know the bulb sizes were different? I ended up having to switch out the top light and trim the tab on the middle light to get these on.

Since I personally think the 890s are little too stiff and some are saying the LX's maybe too soft. I picked up two sets of LC coils. I figure if I don't like one set, then I'll swap them out. Better to have options.

Went to a LC parts yard to pick these up. Wow, they had a lot of cool stuff there! Almost picked up a set of 9 wraps just cause they were there. Hope to have the LX's on in the next week or so.....

11th mod: Extended E-Brake Bracket

Cost: $0

So, before I install my newly acquired LC coils, I need to extend my e-brake bracket. I've read different options on how to do this, but I happen to get lucky and come up with an easy solution.

I took one of my brake line bracket/clamps off of one of my motorycles (one that I put ss lines on). Bent it open and reemed the bolt hole open so that the stock 4Runner bracket bolt would fit. Found another bolt/nut/washer and blue loctite and there you go!

The nice thing is the motorcycle bracket had these little tabs that you could bend in so it didn't move!

12th Mod: Extended Rear Diff Breather Mod

Cost: > $20.00

Will I was doing my e-brake extention mod. I decided to also extend my rear diff breather. This mod was prettystraight forward. I put the truck on some ramps to make easy to access everthing.

I bought about 6 feet of hose, but only ended up using about 5 feet.


Parts used.

Popped the two tabs that hold the fuel shield thingy, so I could run the line.

Took a knife and cut an "X right above the fuel filler.

Fed the line through.

Installed my new breather fitting with some clamps.

That LC yard was insane! I was like a kid in a candy store. I would have spent more time there, but I was in dress shoes and the place was like a muddy land fill!

Can't wait for my retrofit to get here! I'm going to bug TRS tomorrow to see if they have an updated eta.

Where did you get your bulbs at? Like your build thread, keep up the good work. Did you happen to decide on what rear springs you went with?

Thanks! Picked up the bulbs at the Philly auto show from one of the venders. Sorry, but not sure what brand they are.

Right now I have the LX450 coils in and they are much better for me than the 890s. I'll post a write-up when I have time.
