rigid dually in stock oem fog place?

Hi everyone..

I was wondering if anyone has retrofitted the rigid dually into the oem fog place (hella micro de)..

cause I'm thinking about buying an pair for it since my dog ate my wires..

the measurements for the rigid's are a little bit taller and wider.. would it be possible to deremel the bumper to make it fit?

I don't know if anyone has retrofitted the Rigids. Be the guinea pig and install them. Post some pics when finished.

they would look cool but i wouldn't run them on the street, especially at night, since they throw light everywhere, it would be like driving around with two welding arcs on your bumper pissing everyone off.

The D1's aren't that bad but the D2s would be. Put an amber cover over them and I bet they're street-able. As long as you don't aim them up, but then that defeats the purpose of a fog light anyways.

What about cutting out a larger square section from the fog hole location and putting a flush mount D1 in it's spot? Isn't that portion of the bumper metal? I can't remember.

I'm thinking about it..

the bumper is plastic and the dremel would do most of the work..

I wouldn't mind the D2's but is too wide for the stock oem fogs locaion..

with the dually, i would have to cut about 3/8 of an inch for width and about 1/8 for height...

another thing.. I'm thinking about getting it in white led and throw the amber lens cover on it.. that way I can have spot lights for the summer months and amber for winter months for fog + rain.

I mounted my dually's in my bumper. I took a sawsaw cut out some of the lower valance. Then drilled two holes into the metal on the bumper( on the inner side of the lip) to make a solid bolt on install.

Hows the out put on it at night? would you have any night shots of it?

I measured around where the oem fogs are, and I don't know if I should use the mounting bracket from the hella's and bolt it to it..

Mine aren't Rigids, but are the same 2x2 design. My 98 had the "port side" fog lights added and I just trimmed the factory bracket and cut the ends off and bolted them up. Fit perfectly. Lemmie see if I can find you some pictures.
