This is my first time to do anything major to a vehicle ray: and i'm pretty excited about how its all turning out.

The first thing I did ,as i hear a lot of people do, was take off my running boards. pretty simple. good confidence boost

Thanks to Savage Off-Road for great customer service and answering all my questions! with a few additions to hide the guts of the Runner it looks great. Had a lot of help from my former Scoutmaster on the cutting and welding. it will be on soon.

This is my Savage Off-Road bumper all fixed up.

We took the front plate off to get in tight spots.

Ok....I really need to see this on your 4runner. I am considering this bumper and the mods you were able to make to it just might sway me

i had to do a little bit of editing to get the brackets to fit correctly.

we made the cut on the bottom of each, and made it flush. these pics dont have that cut.

alright here is the mostly finished product. and a picture of it on my T4R with out the front plate.

sorry i dont have a top view. hwell: i will have some soon my last step besides wiring my lights is powder coating, and hopefully that starts tomorrow.

here are some pice of the mounting brackets i made for the blinkers, stock fogs, and screw pins. it took a little bit of trial and error but we got them all worked out.

hey coxodoina,

do you have any pics? i like seeing how other members set their bumpers up.

How did you manage to close most of the gap with how the bumper lines up with the body? I think all the pics I have seen of the Savage bumper has a gap as if you would have a body lift on it.

we added a top plate to fit under the headlights. the blinker brackets took care of the little triangle area.

the sides have nothing. not to say you couldn't add something but i left those open.

with out that top piece it looks like it sits out a lot farther than it does.

The gap with how far it sticks out is fine...what I am talking about is if you look at the pic I linked, it looks like there is a gap between the fender and the bumper like it is raised above it, kinda like if you did a body lift for example. If I look at your truck, its like the bumper tucks up a little higher and closes that gap between the tube and your fender flare...closer to that flare.

I looked at the picture and it looks like his mounting brackets are different than mine, not sure why. The ones that savage sent me are not the same as the one in the picture you sent.

mine tucks right up under the flare. i think because my mounting brackets hold it closer to my runner's front... other than that im not sure.

WAIT!!!! i know! when i took off my bumper, to get the brackets flush with the bottom of the frame rail i had to cut about a 1 and 1/4 inch off the bottom from each side and that could be what is making it fit more snug!! :high5: Since it would sit higher then.

well i sent my bumper out for sand blasting and then powder coating! so......close......!! the last mile is always the longest so iv heard.

Just got word that my bumper has been blasted!! Dropping it off in the morning to get it powder coated!!! arty:arty:

Corey Hollister at Hollister Monument did the sand blasting. They had a quick turn around and were very friendly.

while im waiting for that, i do have something to play with...
