I get my Silent Armors put on next Saturday. I am stoked! I will post some pics of my 4Runner (for the first time) with the new tires on.

I made an adjustment this weekend when I did my monthly pressure check. I increased the pressure to 35psi in the Silent Armors and have noticed about 0.5 to 1 mpg increase in economy with little sacrifice in riide quality. I originally ran them at 32psi for the past year.
Just a thought on them if you get the 270 70/17s.

If the tire sidewall allows for 44psi try 38-40psi. The wear will be fine if you have the 265/70/17 size, your resistance to hydroplaning will be better and if you can tolerate the ride you may get another .5mpg. If the sidewall says 50psi (load range 'C') then you should be at 42 or so to be safe.

I'm actually getting the tires put on tomorrow. I will post some pics of them ASAP! I am so pumped! (I'm not pumped about the price though; almost $1,000!! ) :bugeye:

The tires are on!!!!
I got the P265/65/17 size. After taxes and everything, the tires set me back $1,067!!:bash:
First impressions:
- I think they may have put too much air in them. They set all of the tires at 36 psi. I had my stock Bridgestones set at 32 psi (per the manual). The ride feels a bit firm, which I attribute to the added air pressure and obviously the more aggressive tread design.
- The ride feels amazing, albeit a little firm. I have not noticed any extra road noise.
- Aestheically speaking, the tires look AMAZING. I really love the tread design and the ruggedness of the tire.
Of course, the real test will come when I go off-roading and when the snow starts to fly here in a couple of months. Since I am prety tied up with work and class, I will not be able to post pictures until Saturday. But don't worry, I will do it first thing in the morning!
Overall, I think they were a great purchase!:biggrin2:

That is not a big change in psi for you to notice that much of a difference. IMHO, the firmer ride is from the fact that you have a stronger tire now versus OEM. Your sidewall is probably stiffer. The tires are a bit heavier. All of these things add up to a slightly stiffer ride.

I did notice when picking up my tires and loading them in the truck, they felt heavier.
As for looks, I have mine mounted with the outlined letters facing in. I like the subtle look.
They appear to be "taller", less rounded in the sidewall. I think they have a recess where mounted to the rim (LTD 16") At first glance they appear to look like old style snow tires. LOL.
In terms of ride, only driven 10 miles. Ride is a bit firmer (good).
The tire noise is definitely there where the flops were silent. No complaints.
While a lot of work trying to find them in stock, and expensive (~$900 for 5). It is a wise long term investment. With the low annual mileage I put on the truck, these tires will last me 10 years.
Will post a photo or two in the next day or so.
