Rock chip in my Hella 500

Took my 4r offroad the other day and my friends car kicked s rock back into my light. I know the stone shields will prevent cracking but is their a way to seal the light after it has been cracked? My main concern is moisture getting in the housing

Drove around with a cracked hella for 3 years never had a problem with it. It was cracked vertically top to bottom. Still worked when I sold the truck in February.

No experience with it...but if it is made of glass...wonder if you can use the same stuff they use on windshields...for repairs of cracks, chips, etc.

That's what I was thinking, I've got a few chips in my windshield I need to get fixed so I was gonna ask them. The other option I'm considering is gorilla glue

i think it could be repaired like the windshields are. but who knows. hope you can fix it

How about an "invisishield" type cover? (like for iphones and touch screens)

I know they make them for my PIAAs, I dunno about Hellas though. Seems like you could buy the PIAA ones and trim whats left.

This option would also prevent you from getting any further cracks in either lens.

Or just buy one new hella 500 for $30 and replace it (I have 2 if you're interested

I think if you use silicone or some of that stuff to repair windshields you're going to distort the light and cause them to not work as well.

I've never personally gone looking for it at lowes, but I don't see why they wouldn't have it. and after reading about the invisible shield stuff for piaas, that sounds better IMO
