Looking good... They did a nice job.

The general consensus on the box is that unsecured it will slide around and possibly become a missle during a collision, but I'm with you brother. I didn't secure ours either. :

I intentionally had the installer 'not' secure the box so that I could easily take it out when I needed the cargo space. Why is 'not' mounting the box not a good idea?

i dont know, ive got 2 12s and been in 3 moderate accidents and one spun me around and the subs didnt budge, the only thing id worry about is rolling or flipping

I never thought about that. I guess it could happen but I can tell you this, those subs have twin magnets and each one weighs 12 lbs. along with the weight of the box enclosure, all in all, it's about 30 lbs. add that to carpet on carpet from the box to the mat, I'm hoping that I should be alright. I have a Black Labrador Retriever who travels with me so I need the box to be versatile so that I can move it or take it out when I need to in order to make room for his travel crate.

In case of a bad accident, it really wont matter how heavy your box is, it's gonna move. I think Ovrrdrive is lucky, but at the end of the day it's a personal decision and I was just mentioning it. They make some brackets that you can use to secure it in place and still have it easy to remove with no tools. The cost would only be about $20 total and to me that's not too bad. Also, you have tie downs in the cargo area, you could always just use them. Anyway man, nice system and I hope you enjoy it.
