IIRC, like the Egyptian Maadi, the Romanian is based on the same tooling as the Russian; thus making them compatible, and highly sought after for it's higher tolerances.

The "crap" AKs are built with Stamped Receivers and poorly machined barrels that were designed to crank out quantity and not quality (a LOT of AKs in the world tend to be these stamped ones and thus the "AKs shoot for crap" misnomer was born) Most true Russian, Romanian, and some Eastern Bloc made AKs feature machined receivers and and quality barrels. My father was Romanian Military and could shoot an AK around 150meters or so via iron sights pretty accurately.

POS or not it still looks pretty cool IMO reminds me a bit of the original humvee.
