Transmission is crapping out. If it weren't 96 degrees with 200% humidity I'd work on it. This is one of those situations where a warranty sounds better then me working on it.

I should be able to work on the roof rack this weekend. I've been thinking about this design my entire trip, and can't what to get it going. it'll ship in one box through UPS, and will require assembly. I'm leaning towards having a powder coating option well.

Yeap thats for sure, but again I would just swap in a used trans from somewhere.

I agree on the heat and humidity. I cant get nothing done in that and If I had the money I would bring her into the shop also. Instead im the guy working in that crap hot weather and in winter im in the snow with tarps and 20* weather suffering just to save a buck. (single car garage kind of sucks)

time is a crunch, so I was just gonna make the jump and get a high quality rack instead of waiting for your design. LIke a mega worrior with an extension.

after reading through your build thread and seeing your attention to detail, what Ill do for the summer is get some cheap fleabay or curt rack to get me through, which I can then resell at some point
and hopefully before next summer get one of yours

im also needing a fuel tank skid plate eventually....maybe you can make those too

I'm going to start off with a full length rack, and then the 3/4 rack. I don't see a point to even having a 1/2 rack. I'll be modeling from foam this weekend, and I'll post up what I've come up with.

a half rack is good for keeping you cool and refreshed

Yup size does matter! If you look at the specs on some of the racks out there you're really only talking inches here and there. The Yakima is too tall along with others. This was temporary to conserve trunk space until I can find a good low profile solution that doesn't kill the budget.

Fits my longboards so that's good enough for now! Lol.
