Roof Rack Install. Any Tips?

My Baja Utility Rack is supposed to be here on Monday, and of course freight delivers here late in the afternoon, so I'm going to have to wait to install it.

Anyway, I've read through the search results fairly well. Any gotchas or tips anyone knows that they haven't seen posted yet?

I'll pull out the DSLR and contribute some installation shots if I can produce anything I'm not embarrassed to claim and is useful.

You're going to need RTV silicone. The black foam they use eventually breaks down and the bolts loosen up.

Well the story involves [MENTION=68685]Ducmonsta[/MENTION] and [MENTION=66968]Spy45[/MENTION] installing my rack at the Cove...even with 4 people reading the instructions we managed to install some brackets upside down...and took a beer or two too actually figure out what the hell was wrong....it was crazy funny

It was a pretty good laugh considering both these individuals are highly trained, mean, lean fighting machines!!

We had a great time installing it...I hope your install doesn't go "as well". :lookout:

Save some of the cardboard from the box for the install. The front mounts are adjustable so having something to create a space between the front of the rack and your car is needed.
