Im guessing this is a typical problem with T4R or any vehicle that comes with a factory roof rack. Just wondering what your solutions have been to stopping this issue. Pictures and all feedback welcome!!

I was seeing water on the rear 12v outlet and the right corner of the carpet was damp... Pulled the roof rack, cleaned and dried everything. Then took marine / auto epoxy sealer on all the torx screws.
Then pulled the rear hatch weatherstripping. Use the same sealer around the whole lip and paying special attention to the pinch welds. Reinstalled the weatherstripping and everything seems to be dry.

I tried taking mine apart to clean also but looks like the screws are brittle and i stripped one. So i just left them alone.. but i will surly try the marine epoxy. Appreciate it!!

I had a rust hole 2inches by 6 inches under the roof rack rail on the rear of the drivers side... I had a neighbor weld a plate then fiberglass it... this is on my 197k mile 1997 sr5... it hasn't leaked yet... it's not a long term (20yr max maybe) solution.
for the rest of the bolts on both my 4runners I just used normal engine gasket maker and put it on the bolts... no issues.
