Rooftop lightbar - Where to run the wires?

I just got my Whitson rack / LED lightbar and curious where you guys run the wires. I was thinking of running them out to the back and through the hatch, but there must be a better idea.

at the front of the rail that the rack mounts to there is a plastic clip. take that off and there should be a plastic grommet you can go through.

Interesting... maybe I should take the roof rails off. I have a Hilux Surf and my rails are actually totally different than the NA 4Runners... as I discovered when I tried to mount the Whitson rack. I don't have those end point clips at all and my rails are wider. I'll try looking underneath to see if there is anything.

I guess you have to drop the headliner for this then?

Not the best pics. I took these on Saturday when I picked up my Whitson rack - which is when I learned that the rails are completely different. Much wider tracks.

I'm going to have to get new mounts fabbed up or source some NA rails to get this rack to fit.

i ran mi wires down the front of the windshield right on the edge of the rubber gasket, looks kinda cool ill take a pic

It crossed my mind to run my wires this way but thought it would look terrible.

Doesn't look nearly as bad as I thought.

on my 85 I ran them up the door trim. they were exposed for a few inches before hitting the light bar. using black wires, or electrical tape(on my black rig) they weren't very noticeable. you can get color matched(or very close) electrical tape.

I don't know if that will work on the 3rd gen, not sure of the layout of the trim, or door seals. but it worked well on my 1st gen.

I ran mine much like nevada did. Just run them behind the door seal and the wires are only exposed where it comes out from behind the door to the accessory.
