Rosen unit in limited w factory nav***urgent

Sorry this has to be quick and with out pics. I have a 2011 limited w factory nav. I was not pleased with it. I ordered the rosen factory look head unit and was very pleased with it. However the factory mounting bolts are not lining up. I called Rosen and spoke w them and they said it was made for 4runners w out factory navs and fits perfectly with them. The unit fits in perfect however the factory brackets for the factory nav when attached to the Rosen unit and placed back in the dash are about 3/4 off. Sorry again no pics available .

Does any one have pics of the standard mounting bracket for a non nav unit ?


I already ordered the supposed parts but they seem to be the same part number for nav and non nav units


I am taking a 1300mi job interview trip this week and am in deer need of help on the matter.

Thanks for the reply. It's actually pic 4. That's the link I used to uninstall the factory nav. In pic 4 it shows the 4 bolts to unscrew at the bottom. Those brackets attach to the sides of the double din radio. I need to see those brackets on a non factory nav unit

I have had both and removed/changed out the head unit on both the sr5 and limited. I think the brackets are the same. On the side of the Rosen unit, there are a few different holes, right? It might not be the same holes that you used for the original.

With the different dash kits (Metra and Scoche), I had to use different bracks. The Mera accepted and lined up with the facotry brackets, but the Scoche kit required the use of their provided brackets. Perhaps your Rosen unit is similar in that regard?

Well that's not good news. The Rosen only had 1 spot to mount the bracket. Maybe it was a prototype unit and the production units has the typical multiple mounting locations any theories ?

ok here are some pics. the first one shows the factory nav lining up correctly. side shot shows where the brackets mount. and yes i have tried different holes. I measure how far the bracket was from the hole in the dash and its 3/4" on the outer holes and 7/8's on the inner holes. Best guess is Rosen F#$&ed up and didn't drill the holes correctly

I know you are frustrated...but would you mind telling me how much that unit ran you? I hope you find a fix before the trip...

i bought it for 750 on ebay. I know this guy sells him too. i had to order a JBL cable and Sirius unit seperate from him. He said he can negotiate the prics a bit

Thanks for posting the pics.

Question- The clips that secure the head unit at the top, are they in the correct location? They may be mounted too far down from the top... In the pics, it looks like the entire unit is too high in the dash- could be an illusion from the angle.

BUT- if the top clips are in the wrong location, it won't allow the bracket to line up. Whadda you think?

the tabs that fit into the dash are not adjustable but they line up perfectly. It seems to be from the factory side mounting brackets not having a correct hole

That should be an easy fix then. Just slot the holes a bit so it lines up. Sucks it doesn't fit though!
