RR Sport vs T4R Sport V8

Toyota 4runner SE V8 is the same size (within an inch here and there) as the new Range Rover Sport. The Range Rover loaded is $69K compared to the 4runner SE loaded in the mid 30K range. One thing I did notice is the T4R weighs around 4500 lbs and the RR Sport weighs around 5500 lbs. The T4R should be more reliable and the RR should be more Luxury, but I sure can't see the $30,000++ more for the Range Rover SE??? Also anyone know where the additional 1000 lbs come from on the RR Sport?

T4R= 4.7 V8
RR= 4.4 V8

The 4runner V8 is I think a better engine for a 4x4 SUV, (Iron block) designed for a truck application. The RR is the Jaguar 4.4 all aluminum V8 that is used in the cars, not that special. The Jaguar puts out 300hp and I think 315 tq. while the 4runner is ? 270 hp and 330 tq. You can get the RR supercharged with a 4.2 V8 390hp and 410lb that way it is about as fast as the T4R V8 with the standard 4.7 V8.

PS- I hear that they need a mechanic in the trunk.

True......I think the BEST comparison would be a Lex GX470; compare premium brands with each other.

Afterall, (and yes I would still buy one) the Lex doesn't justify it's premium over the 4R based solely on extra features/equipment/performance either......

The extra $30k is for donuts,coffee,soda and leather seating to watch a 50" plasma TV w/ HDTV to kill time you don't have while you Wait for your RR to get fix...

I can get all of that for Free except for the plasma HDTV and nice seating if I can get to my Toyota dealer bright and early when the doors open . my stealer only have a 25" old azz tube TV that only show green and red color with seat that have hole and cut in them and you have to pay if you want a soda..

lol! next to me Toyota dealer is a ford and Dodge dealer and their waiting area isn't any better! actually their seating is worser then the toyota dealer! I guess a lot of people have seat in them. I think they will be replacing the ford and dodge waiting room with metal seats pretty soon.:arrow:
