RRO Supersliders Install Issues Any Ideas?

I ordered the Rocky Road Outfitters Supersliders for the Trail.

I am sure that I have them oriented correctly as far as driver and passenger side is concerned, I saw in some older posts that the instructions were not correct, mine are, and there is no way the mounts and bolt patterns would work if the passenger and driver side sliders were reversed.

But for the mid mount, only the top hole is threaded.

For the rear mount, the threaded holes are way off.

Anyone else had this problem or have ideas what's up here? Thanks.

typical of all rro products they dont fit properly and instructions not right ive seen too many threads on suzuki samurai forums where people are unhappy with theyr products good luck if i were u id see if u can send it back and get ur money back
 
I had this same problem with my first set of RRO sliders, one side had the mount plates welded on backwards. I emailed them with photos, they took car of things be sending me a replacement. Kind of a pain when you get one slider on then the other side wont go.

Ya know... IRC is right. You can see I do not run RRO sliders now. If you can use this mess up to get your money back I would do it. Take the money and put it toward something Trail worthy.

my rro fit like a glove i had no problems with any fit all the holes were perfect did you ever buy rro products coz ur making a painting with a pretty wide brush ur posts makes me want to gouge my eyes out thx
 
I would definitely call Glen, and let him know there is a problem...because without being there and physically being able to see, it's hard to tell what the various issues are. Just be sure they are installed on the right sides..if you need pictures I'd gladly provide them.

If they messed up, they should have an opportunity to make it right, return them and give you your money back...no ones perfect.

As far as the statement to get others more "trailworthy"....I've wailed my sliders several times, enough to knock the truck about 2' sideways, and have slid across plenty of obstacles....and to date have only suffered scratched off powder coat on the bottom. I also have used them to jack the truck up to get some rocks under the tires, with no ill effects.

Right on... as noted RRO did make things right when they sent my sliders with this same problem.

Titanpat it's good to hear your success story with the RRO sliders. I had my doubts on those when i first put them on. When I went to the BudBuilts later a side by side comparison left me even more skeptical. Glad they are really working as they should!

Oh that's pretty cool! Do you happen to remember approximately how thick that spot where you are tapping is? I recall mine is only about 1/8" thick so I was afraid that any bolts directly threaded to the frame rail might pull out of there if you get some pressure on the sliders. I wanted to add some more bolts to my passenger side slider since my frame rails didn't seem to have many factory welded on nuts from behind.

its all 1/8. and me and my dad were jumping on the steps he's 200lba and im 250lba. my uncle in a metal faber by trade he said it will be more then fine. got 8 bolts on each side
 
Thanks guys. They are definitely on the correct side, if I reversed them there would be no love on any of the threaded holes and the mid bracket would be blocked on the driver's side.

I am waiting to hear back from RRO.

I considered drilling and tapping, thanks [MENTION=68981]jam23r1[/MENTION] for confirming that is an option. Drilling and tapping almost sounds easier than packing them up and shipping them back to RRO for an exchange, especially since I have three weekend trips to the mountains planned in the next 30 days.

Kind of annoying with RRO, but I do like their products.

I will post on the resolution.

They just sent me a replacement. I didn't have to send back the defective slider.
