Trying to replace the bulbs in my 2003 limited running boards with LEDs. I did the driver side no problem. Go to the passenger side and had all sorts of problems.
First, the front side I could not get the stupid bulb socket to re-seat into the hole. After five or six fumblings, the stupid bulb fell out into the light fixture. Looking underneath I see there's two phillip's screws which I'm assuming will let me remove the light socket so I can shake out the bulb. However the screws have never been touched and are badly rusted. I'm thinking I'll try the stick with gum on the end parlor trick.
On the rear side of the same running board, the socket and bulb were completely corroded together. I think I need to replace that socket. What is the part number for that? I can't even find "running board" in any toyota parts listings online, let along the little grey light socket.
Finally, I decide, screw it, I'll just remove the entire running board to shake out that bulb and facilitate cleaning the other socket. I go underneath to disconnect the main power wire in the middle, and discover the white wire is cut right at the plastic connector. So no matter what, those lights won't light. I have purchased some 2-wire waterproof connectors and will rewire that connector.
In the meantime, I would like to replace that bulb socket, does anyone know the part number for that?
