Running board or not? Pics inside

My running boards are coming off.

RIGHT NOW.

Ordered the 4xInnovations DOM Tubing Sliders with kickouts today also. So she'll be naked for a couple weeks till those arrive anyway.

Tomorrow there'll be a much larger change coming for my 4R. I'll post pics when it's done...

keep them on or replace them with something else. If you've got leather seats, the side will almost definitely crack. I took mine off for a while and because you get in and out of the truck differently without them on, the side of the seat tore. Got it fixed, put them back on, and trained myself to use them getting in and out - I don't even think about it anymore. I do agree that it looks more rugged without them, but I personally find the small difference in appearance doesn't warrant the inconveniences. Nice ride!

Boards are on for the winter, off for the summer. They help keep a lot of the salt and crap on the winter roads off the rocker panels. It looks so much more awesome without them.

I've got leather seats and never used the running boards to get in/out (I'm 6'2" so I didn't need them, even after the lift). My seats are still in really good shape even with 144k on the clock.

I too think something needs to go there (SLIDERS!:reddance:) in place of the running boards. I was shocked by the scrapes on the bottom side of mine that weren't visible until I got under them to take them off - I definitely had some near misses judging by the scrapes and I think the sliders will serve me well down the line.

I'm not a crazy off-roader or anything but we've got a farm with some trails on it that I do like to drive on from time to time.
