Running Boards cost to order and Bull Guards ?s

Talked to the toyota parts desk at my dealer today, Running boards can be ordered for about $380 and installed for like another $75.
No idea about a bull guard or brush guard.

To me, $380 is about $100 more than I would want to pay, so I will go after market.
I looked under the car and there are plenty of bolt points for running boards, but I dunno what will fit

I also want to install a bull guard but couldnt find any decent bolt points under the front of the car.

I have no experience installing either, so I am wondering if anyone who does has look at it or has any advice

I'm waiting for Sparks Toyota start selling them. They're usually sell for much less.

I call Toyota service desk and running boards can be ordered and delivered in 48 hours for about $372 including tax. But the installation fee was about $135. Any one has similar experience?

Interesting, I got a call from my local parts dealer this morning and was told that they couldn't find anyone (including Toyota) offering running boards. Coincidently, I just received a response to the same question (will there be running boards offered as an accessory?) and here is Toyota USA's (somewhat canned) response:

Hmmmm...very interesting...I think I would only want the model I saw in the pictures of the Canadian Trail to go on my Trail here in the States...they match the pattern on the bumper!

I will be at a dealer tomorrow probably for installation of the running boards.
The part desk ordered for me the 2010 T4R Limited version. Only one type is offered with chrome on the exterior with no light. He offered to show the pictures, but did’t had a chance to go the dealer. If they are not manufactured by Toyota, I may not proceed with the installation.

i will call the dealership for you tommorow and ask them how much and how long it would take to get a pair of running boards in for a trail if you like? :hungry:

500 is a bit pricey for running boards aint it? you could probably get a decent set of nerf bars for that price?

Nobody makes them yet for the 2010's . I e-mailed Shrockworks asking them about their rock sliders which are basically nerf bars and here is there response.

Thanks for your interest in our products. The 2010 4Runner is be a topic for new product here in the office for sure. I have been keeping my eyes peeled and watching the lots around here but have yet to see one driving down the road, much less see one here in our shop. We are certainly eager to get our hands on one, we just haven’t hands an opportunity yet.

I imagine we will start selling sliders first and the front bumper will follow, be we need a local guinea pig first. Keep in touch, this is one sure to come.

Shrockworks makes some great 4x4 products and they are down in Houston TX . If anybody on the forum owning a 2010 lives down that way, they need a guinea pig to do fit checks.They make them already for 4th Gens so it shouldn't be that different. Here is the website.... we need more people to e-mail them showing interest.

called up two dealerships today and asked for the info. they dont have the running boards in their parts catalogue yet so i couldn't get an exact price. if i get any updates i'll make sure to let ya'll know.
