I'm in NorCal now. I did three degrees at UGA and lived in Athens for 7 years. Loved it!

Congrats on the new car. The wait nearly drove me insane!
 
You can get them from the scott clarks toyota parts counter. There number is : 800 542 9046
I talked with them when I got the price at the start of this thread, they are a decent dealer. Just ask them for running boards for the 2010 4runner, thats how they looked them up for me. I decided not to get them tho and see what comes out after market.

I was at a dealership in upstate NY. I have a blizzard pearl limited. I went to the dealer to find the running boards and they told me apparently Toyota SE (FL, GA, etc.) is a different toyota and has different parts. So calling the dealer in GA they will ship them to upstate NY?

I would think they would work something out with you. They might want you to pay a little more to ship it from theyre dealership to NY since the parts probably have to come to them first
 
Man those RB's look sweet, just what I'm looking for. Too pricey so I think I will wait and shop around. My wife will just have to keep using the handles to hoist herself in. Its great to know that boards are available even for a price. Thanks.
 
I'm here in Southern California. I picked up a 5th gen and the running boards were part of the deal. The sales guy said he had them ordered and would be in in two weeks. Then I called again to check and another guy told me that the running boards were not available yet to dealers.

My problem is that I live in Norcal and am only down for the winter break. I don't want to drive all the way down to Los Angeles to have the running boards installed. Do you think my dealership would be able to order it from the southeast?
 
anyone know how easy the running boards are to install on a 2010? are the mount points already there..just need to be fastened?
 
I just installed the running boards on my limited last night. It was a little bit of pain because it is cold up here and my garage is covered in dirt, but its very straightforward. They look good I like them.

The thing is Toyota has different "divisions" in different parts of the country, so I ordered them from down south (Toyota SouthEast) and they shipped them up.

I am doing the antenna mod because the antenna looks dumb and I ordered the all weather weather mats from weather tech. They fit well. After that I will just be waiting on remote start. I'll post some pics once the antenna is on.

I bought from there and received within 2 days.I just installed this afternoon and the car looks alot better with running boards.Thanks for your advice/information and I will post the photo later.

Hi pokwa! Did they fit like an OEM part should and look like they were designed for the 2010 4Runner? Also, did you have to alter anything or are you concerned about rust developing where attached? Thanks!

Hi Goatroper,

I installed at Pepboys because my dealer's service manager was not willing to install even I offered labor charges.He said he needed to ask approval from sale department since I didn't order the running board through them,also they didn't order for me. Pepboys charged $30 for one side[ 60 for both side],$9 for labor warranty,$ 4.78 for shop fee .total $ 78 for installation. They took 1 hr to install,no drilling,no alteration., every thing came with the kit.They [Pepboys] said pretty simple for installation only thing is the kit has a lot of screws/bolts so it took time to arrange.The running boards are designed for 2010 4 runner.I recommand running boards because it totally changed the style and the vehicle looks a lot better than with out running boards.
 
this thread's making me feel like an iconoclast for having removed my '06 V8's tube steps the day after i got it. with the 5G, it's now playing out in reverse… ;):
