As of 1-18-2010, there were none available in NE that I could find. I had been checking the link mentioned by Sporty87 but got tired of waiting "new products coming soon". Not quite sure how the three products offered would mount as I do not want to have to drill or jury rig. General consensus is that the southeast boards are the way to go. I ordered mine yesterday from the link provided by Polkwa as well as others. My thanks go out to all for providing info on this topic and I will be sure to post my results and thoughts on installation,fit,quality,etc,etc

Here's kind of a half ass answer for the Trail.

I really loved the Canadian Trail's running boards, they match the pattern on the rear bumper....sooooooooo.....

After 2 calls to USA Toyota cust Serv. and 2 calls to Toyota Canada Cust. Serv....I'm no further ahead then when I started :cursin:

I did finally get some info from a dealership above Niagra Falls, and the fellow was extremely helpful, (Len in parts) he was unable to locate a part number for the damn things, so the hunt continues.

He did mention that there so new. there's no part number yet, and because the're Toyota parts....the're gonna be pricey!

OK, so my sales rep calls and says he's got 10 pairs coming with a 4R they're having delivered from GST port (Dallas, I think). Anyway, he says list on it is $695 installed. I told him to take my name off the list. And then he says he'll work something out for me since I turned him on to a Limited sale. I told him anything over $300 installed is too much and he didn't seem to blink. Will keep you guys updated.

I just installed the running boards on my limited last night. It was a little bit of pain because it is cold up here and my garage is covered in dirt, but its very straightforward. They look good I like them.

The thing is Toyota has different "divisions" in different parts of the country, so I ordered them from down south (Toyota SouthEast) and they shipped them up.

I am doing the antenna mod because the antenna looks dumb and I ordered the all weather weather mats from weather tech. They fit well. After that I will just be waiting on remote start. I'll post some pics once the antenna is on.

if it's not too much of a problem, can you post pictures on how you mounted the Running boards??? or how everyone else mounted theirs. All your help would be greatly appreciated.

i have a copy of the dealer instructions i could scan in and post tomorrow morning (if i can figure out how to post images). i will say it was pretty straight forward installing and i'm not very mechanically inclined.

Hi Hoosier! Got my running boards today (SE Toyota offering). The pictures on my instructions were not very clear. Hope you can post the instructions. Also, did you have to remove the small flap that is sticking down from the T4R toward the rear tire? It said something in the instructions that this might be necessary. It appears that all holes are predrilled on the 4Runner so the running boards should fit without any problem. Was this the case? Noticed that 2 of the brackets, which have a different shape from the 4 others go toward the front of the T4R. I just took a quick look at the running boards in the box and they look really nice. When we get a break in the weather here in west central Indiana, I'll try to figure out how to install them.

i will contact a few more dealerships in the area and see if they have access to them. living near a shipping port that has a landing for toyota means that we'll probably see the parts on the west coast over here first before those boys in niagra do.

i'll give them a call on the weekend.

too funny...i purchased mine from SE Toyota and sounds like i have the same instructions with the not so clear pictures. honestly i didnt even know they were in the box until i finished putting them on and cleaned up. i did remove the flaps near the rear tire well on both sides and was curious about that as well and noticed it was in the instructions. they would not center like i wanted had i not removed them. the two front brackets are different and if you get up under you will see they line up with some braces already in place that you unscrew the bolts and put the running board brackets over the existing brace and bolt right back in with the new bolts and washers. its really simple once you get under the truck and see where the brackets go...piece of cake. good luck!

their computer system might not be fully updated yet. last time i talked to a guy when i was looking for a locking fuel cap he couldnt find it in the computer, but he went a step further and looked into their most recent parts catalog and found it, part number price and all. so maybe they will have updates and i can ask. atleast its worth a shot.

It's still frustrating to hear that the Canadians and the SE USA have the running boards as STD equipment or an option, while Toyota USA say they have no 'announced' plans to offer running boards as an option for the 2010 4Runner. :ybrick: At least that was their response to my e-mail a few weeks ago.

if i find a dealership that has enough reasonably stocked i could talk to them and perhaps post the contacts for the dealership on here. maybe even if the dealership could order them in or something it'd be a place to start. the dealership where i picked up my trail edition from had 50+ crossbars in stock ready to go for people as well as other parts exclusive to the 2010 4runner like all season mats and locking fuel caps. my go to guy at the dealership isn't going to be in until the weekend and i'm busy on saturday so if i can get a hold of him on sunday i'll give you fellas an update. if not i'll call him for sure on monday. i am hoping that he can give me info on when they'll be available and how much it'll cost. i'll see if i can get the parts number as well so you guys can verify.

i'm actually quite surprised that the running boards do not come standard on US model 4runners. its kinda weird if ya ask me. there are many people out there who would want running boards for their vehicle so why not just include it in the cost of the vehicle like they do in canada?

my trail came with a rear toneau cover as well which is apparently an option in the states. seems kinda weird that you would have to pay extra or seperate fees for such essential items.

Was just in Power Toyota of Irvine and they had an ATS display with pics of the Xtreme running boards installed on a 2010 4Runner.

They wanted about $900 installed, but from what I can tell, they can be had much cheaper. Unfortunately ATS is a local company and doesn't appear to have much sales support yet.

For reference, these are the boards:

the part is C910 CU69. The site implies you can buy direct and they will color match. The pics looked good, but weren't a ton of help. I may give it a shot when I get the funds.

They also were advertising the Uni or Uni 2, but no pics.

I just received my running boards from southeast and I must say they look great. They are an aluminum extrusion with a rubber non slip surface, as opposed to hard plastic like those on my old 4thG. The brackets are powder coated and formed from apx 1/8" thick steel channel, they appear to be plenty rugged. The end caps are a hard plastic and are retained by one sheet metal screw located on the inner side out of plain sight. There is a pliable rubber strip that protrudes from the inner top side of the step to the rocker panel, I presume to disguise any gap that may be present. Metric zinc chromate fasteners are provided. My first impression is that they are well designed , the complexity of the extrusion looks like it really boosts the structural properties of the unit as a whole. Now I just need a break in the weather to install them, pouring rain right now.
