Rust bleeding through paint on rear hatch

Did Toyota paint the whole rear door? If so, does the new paint look off colored from the rest of the vehicle?

Does anyone know if new paint will look noticeably different from the rest of the vehicle? (Vehicle would be 12 months old) Thanks in advance!

The shop did not paint the whole door only the locations and then blend. They did clear coat the entire door. No noticeable difference.

So I was just cleaning the rear hatch while prepping for a gobi ladder install. Unfortunately noticed some tiny rust colored spots, but no bubbling yet. They are still VERY tiny. Should I take it to the dealer or does that only work if it's bad enough to bubble the paint? Or should I iron x the hatch?

This is a 2016 purchased in dec, only 5500 miles. My 2010 never had the issue :ohwell:

Rear Hatch Rust

Well, you can put me on this list. My rear hatch has developed several small rust spots. I got to admit as time goes on I'm getting more and more pissed with this thing. Front diff issues, rear diff issues, noisy cabin fan in winter, driver seat motor sounds like it has sand in it, interior and exterior scratch if you look at them too hard and now this, freakin rust! On a 3 year old vehicle that has had the factory and aftermarket rust proofing. Local Toyota dealer was completely useless too, says it was caused by rock chips and not under warranty (rock chips.......on the rear of the vehicle......wtf?!). Currently in the process of seeing if Toyota Canada will do anything, but not holding my breath.
