S&B Intake - 5th Gen via Burtman

After looking at the three "true" aftermarket cold air intakes, I decided to go with the S&B CAI. Price was the driving factor. It looking the best is a nice bonus.

Had a quick call with [MENTION=9]Jason B[/MENTION]. Helped me get it ordered asap. I plan on consulting him on any of my other auto part needs. He's the man! Hope it arrives before 9/2. Otherwise it might be a few days before I have the chance to install it again.

Side note: Knowing that everyone who has an aftermarket CAI for our vehicle has reported better gas mileage,I decided to do some maths.

If your mpg increases by 1, price of gas stays at $2.50 and you use a tank a week, then it would take 3 years to pay off an S&B CAI! After that you start to SAVE money! :grouphug:

CP = cost of tank
X% = percent better fuel efficency
CE = Tanks filled per year
W = cost of CAI

W/((X% * CP) * CE) = years till money is made back
 
Any CO folks have this? If so did it help at all when driving into/through the mountains?

Ha! That's awesome that you figured that out! I was always wondering that in my head about the same thing. Very cool. One thing to remember, your first tank of gas after installing this will probably be shitty since you'll be testing out the new power and flooring it a bunch of time, so start tracking miles on the 2nd tank, lol.

I've sold a few of these to CO guys that had the same issue at that elevation, and to guys with new Tacoma's, same setup. They all said it def helped in the mountains and they can feel more acceleration. That's the good news.

Thin air, got it. It will help since it allows for more air to come in. Not sure how much it will help. I'd say get one and try it out. At least you'd be getting better fuel economy and a little bit more power. See my anti-life equation err.... CAI equation.

I've sold enough of these for Tacoma's in your state and a few 4Runners and if you don't like it, I'll let you send it back no questions.

Burtman Industries S&B intake

I honestly can tell you 2 of those guys asked the same questions, especially when climbing mountains and both said it def helped with more power.
 
I already felt good about the S&B intake after reading this thread, but I just got off the phone with Jason and I now feel completely confident after chatting with him and getting it ordered. He shows genuine interest in getting you what you need, and is transparent and honest. Excited now for better throttle response, mpg increase, and sexy engine noises.
 
Ok Jason. I’ll take you up on that offer. I’ll order it first of October.

September is already going to be brutal on the wallet with having to buy our season passes this weekend and the little man getting his tonsils out in Tuesday.

:) I appreciate posts like these. Makes my job much more enjoyable. And yes, I will say this is the best intake for the price and quality out there!

Oh yeah he genuinely wants you to be happy with the product. You can tell he loves what he does and I fired off a million questions lol. Am I crazy to want to put leds inside my box? I don't usually like things like that but would be like an audi r8. Those have a led light engine bay from the factory

Ouch on the tonsils!!! You'll be pleasantly surprised with this intake. It's still the best intake there is for the price, at almost $100 less than others and made in usa.

And yes, carb approval for CA has been submitted so if you're in ca this will be able to pass soon.
 
Received my S&B from JASON B. Super quick shipping!!
Waiting for my AFE TB spacer to arrive before I install... also from JASON B.
It will be paired with my custom 18” MF muffler with side exit. I am also running a pedal commander too. Excited for the results!!
 
Just ordered an S&B intake and side-exit Gibson exhaust today for my '16 SR5. Can't wait to get these installed.

Jason is a total rock star! Really easy to chat with and quite knowledgeable.
 
Mine arrived yesterday. Install was easy - took just under an hour and that is mostly due to one of the line-up holes needing to be "eared" a little with a step bit to fit in place. Solid, clean looks and well-built. Less pedal effort during normal driving and a nice growl under heavy acceleration. I'm quite happy with it.
 
You guyz are killin' me!

I'm on the verge of ordering the Sprint Booster, S&B intake and possibly the Gibson Catback for my '19 TRD ORP. My '08 Sport with only the TRD intake currently runs circles around my '19.
