No problem, if you ever need a hand wrenching on the new runner i'm down for it. I always enjoy helping out a fellow 4runner especially with all the help I get from here too.

Ok I have to say this since everyone already mentioned my thread. Brian2Sun hit it on the head it should only cost 1000-1300 to buy your truck back and you can easily part it out or swap to the new truck. Also with lower mileage but 2 years older you should still be in the 6500-7500 price range.
Next thing on the bumpers. Look at the small damage(scrapped off powder coat/paint) the bumper did not take much of a hit. It looks mainly to have been the tire and suspension. I can also tell you based on my truck looking the same a few weeks ago from the bolts sheering at 5mph his did what it needed to. I think a lot of you really need to look and study at what causes airbags to be deployed. Mainly the fact that in most vehicles it is a shock sensor and a decelerameter. Try telling me hitting a solid object like that Fort Knox mailbox isnt going to slow you down in a hurry and cause a sharp jolt.

While it is tested at 40 mph take a close look at the damage caused for those of you mentioning crumple zones. The lower rockers panels and floor pan are bent the roof line is tweaked which tells me the frame and body are tweaked all the way back. But hey it is the aftermarket bumper(which by the pictures didnt take the brunt of the impact) being to stiff that caused things to come out of line at 25mph. Guaranteed the crumple zones would have done as much or more body and structure damage.
By the way for those of you claiming the ARB crash test here is a thought, ARB never tested the Tacoma bumper on the 4Runner. In fact most of their tests on done on the Aussie versions and not the US patforms to Aussie test standards. If you want to tel me the Tacoma and 4Runner arent much different I would say ask anyone that makes aftermarket parts for Tacos if their stuff works on 4Runners. Our frames are boxed all the way back and the Tacoma isnt along with several other structural differences.

If you get another 3rd gen and it has an elocker DO NOT get rid of it!!! and yes, you can put 5.29's in it. That's really low though, I think you would be pretty satisfied with 4.88's, but it's your (future) truck. If you do a lot of highway I would not suggest going 5.29's.

Well I went to several off-road shops and they all said mainly do to weight get the 5.29s

Yeah, that's true. Now my plan is to go up to 35s, keep the 4.88s and add a SC hopefully before long. That should be a combo of good power and good freeway rpms.

short from having a 5 speed of course, that right there is the best overall setup someone can have and get the max usage out of it.

Tryig to find a new one to swap the parts from the old on. Checked out 6 today all low millage but a sh!t load of rust on all of them.
