Safari Guard? Is this a TV Star?

Hey I just bought this 2003 4Runner. Does anyone recognize this rig? From my research it appears to have a front bumper, rock sliders and rear bumper made by Safari Gaurd Inc. The same set up as the Global Extreme 4Runners from the reality TV show in 2003. I can't find another example of a bumper like this except for the Global Extreme 4Runners and i've read they never marketed them. Is it possible this is one of the few(1-4) one-offs they modified? Is it a clone? Any info would help. Thanks

The pics of the one online has a:

• Aftermarket roof rack (could have easily been removed on yours)
• Rear Spoiler
• Different wheels (Easily swapped though)
• Different aftermarket lights
• A hidden winch and huge winch fairlead
• The side of yours says "Sport Edition 4wd" while the one online simply says "Sport Edition"

Doesn't mean its not one of yours though, as I've never seen that front and rear bumper or sliders before.

Check the carfax or toyota owners online for the vehicle history, might give a clue anyway.

Those bead locks look fuctional and I highly doubt they were dot approved. If it was a show / promotion vehicle I'd say they would have been removed. The bumper guards are unusual, though.

Does yours have a K&N Air Intake, red fog lamps, or the hidden Superwinch X9000?

Good catch on the "Sport Edition 4wd" vs just "Sport Edition"

It does have a K&N cold air intake but as far as the other mods I don't think they line up with xpdnrunner's. Although I would like to talk to that guy. It seems to be a unique set up and for 2 to end up in idaho is interesting.

According to Toyota owners this one has been serviced in CA since 2005 and more recently in NV. I found it on a lot in Nampa, ID and they said they picked it up at an auction.

Of course!

It looks like mounting tabs are welded to the frame then the sides are bolted to those. Then the middle of that Bars has tabs that are bolted under the tow points.

I couldn't see those little tabs holding up if you caught those sliders on some rocks.
