Safelite Thrashed My Rig!

I would stand out there and hawk over the guy doing the install, explain to him what happened previously and that is why you are watching this time. I had mine replaced about 6 months ago, they came to my work and did it in the parking lot. They did a pretty good job and the guy was experienced and all but I still checked up every 15 - 20 minutes or so.

UPDATE:

Still waiting on Safelite and their wonderful 1-5pm window to show up.

I did finally get a call back from claim mgr at Safelite. He agreed that should I want to pursue additional repairs once I get back into town, he said it will not be an issue. He stated he will me mailing a check out for the cost of the PDR repairs. We also discussed the reimbursement of the money I spent on the original windshield install. He went on to say he cannot reimburse me that because they performed a service for me. I said they sure did and in the meantime did $1400 in damage to my car and as of this post, wasted about 8hrs of my time dealing with this matter. He then offered to include a $100 giftcard with the check being sent for the PDR payment. While I'd prefer the entire $200 paid for the windshield paid back to me, I agreed to take the giftcard.

More to come later.

ANOTHER UPDATE:

Just got a call from Safelite advising they were on the way. The rep then asked what the problem was. I inquired if he was the one who originally installed the windshield (I specifically asked for their most experienced rep) and he said he was. He said he was so I advised him that the problem is he installed the windshield incorrectly and in the process caused $1400 in damage to the roof of the car. He says that he is not disputing what I'm saying but states there is no way he dented the roof of the car.:wtf:

I proceed to explain to him that I've spent the past week trying to resolve this situation and repair the damage HE DID to the car. I also advised he can get in touch with his (2) co-workers who came to my home on Monday and inspected the damage. Finally, I advised him that Safelite's claim department has already been dealing with the matter.

The poor sap sounded confused and said he better call his dispatch. He called back a few minutes later and inquired if I wanted him to do the windshield or another rep. Is this a trick question? Who does he think I want out doing the work?? He again tells me he will call me back with the appointment time for tomorrow with another installation rep.

So now I am set for 8-Noon tomorrow. Another 4 hours wasted today on this and I'm sure another 4-5 will be wasted again waiting for them tomorrow. :flipoff:

Sounds like a highly educated individual.

Thanks for the updates, at least its the roof. Personally I'd take a check for 1k dollars from safe lite and lifetime replacement windshields and leave the dents alone. Get a GPS suction cup, and pull. I guarantee they will improve.
