safety and e-test

Sorry guys but im just wondering.
i got my 4runner from a relative that past away and the truck was recently safetied and e-tested but now that i need to switch the ownership over and get new platers and everything will i have to get it safetied and e-tested again? i have the death certificated of my relative that past away and everything as proof... maybe someone can help me out?

no idea what the laws are up there in the land of nord. here in california they would probably make you do it all over again just because they are that dumb.

I live in Canada and I know if it was recently safety inspected, you wont have to do it again, Im not sure what the time is, maybe 3 months? 6 months?

When you go to get insurance just bring the safety inspection sheet with you and they will ok it as long as its recent enough for them.

I'm not sure what you mean by e-testing though....

Change of ownership will mean new etest (drive clean). Good luck with that mine failed because of catylitic converter. Had to have it tested again 1 year later, failed again because the converter i put on last year failed again.

oh yeah....duh emissions test.
Im pretty sure that isnt required in Canada, actually I shouldnt say Canada, I know it isnt required in Alberta.

as far as I know in Ontario the e-test is good for a year, safety for 32days(give or take a few) You should check with the motor vehicle dept though as ownership changes between relatives might be different. Good luck.
