Do I even need to take it off though? I've seen lots of videos where they just support the hub and disconnect the lca to swing it down and remove coilover

I replaced my UCA's so it was needed. Unsure otherwise.
 
Picked up these bad boys for a killer deal on Craigslist. 285/70/17 mud tires with 90 percent tread left.

Alright guys I got the lift done today with my father in law and it went pretty smooth other than a few things.

I need some quick help with two things.

1) the front seems like it was lifted wayyyy too much, def didn't think that would be an issue but center of hub to fender is measuring 24.5 in front and top of tire to fender is like 9 or more inches when the pre measurements were 19.5 and 3 or 4 inches. How did I get that much lift from ome 885s and a 1/4th inch spacer? Will it settle? It has not be aligned yet which might be causing the issue also?

2) I over greased one side of the spc uca new greasable ball joints. I didn't think the gun was working and it never bulged at all then there was a ton of greese all over the boot from somewhere. Does anyone know if this will cause issues or will it be fine if it doesn't leak more?

I have to install the spidertrax tomorrow and get the alignment. I might need to take the spacer (1/4th inch so theoretically only lifted 1/2 inch) out and see if that drops the front enough. I just don't get how 2 inch heavy springs and a half inch spacer = 5 or 6 inch lift, granted my stock shocks were pretty bad but still.

Here is a pic of the angle. I have ordered the 2884s and plan on not driving it until Friday, switching the 2884 for the 2885 and possibly taking the spacer out to get the front down.

Yeah, That sounds good. I am at about 23'' hub to fender, and that is about as high as I would want to go.

It sounds like you don't have enough weight on the front for the current springs, and the additional spacer just adds to it. It would probably settle some, but not enough without new springs and/or taking out the spacer.

If I took the spacer out i think I'd still be at 24 in front. Think it would settle enough to be OK or should I just go the 2884 with 1 spacer in driver side and none on passenger?

Did you drive it around at all after the install to see if it would settle additionally, or are your measurements from right after you lowered it to the ground?

How high is the rear of your rig right now?

Yeah if they are 1/4 inch spacers, it would not get you down far enough alone by removing just the spacers if you were looking for 2.5-3'' of lift....

I have a buddy that has been running with a height of 23.75'' with no problems yet after thousands of miles, and I know of a few on here that have posted that they are at 23.75-24'' in the front, and have been for quite some time with no issues reported yet...but the lower you go, the less likely you'll have issues

If you do not plan on adding any additional weight to the front, going with the 884's would make sense for what your original goal was.
 
I did drive it around yesterday trying to find an open alignment shop and getting the tires on. I have also measure several times hoping it would come down a little lol. I really love how tall it is but I do not want to replace cv axles any time soon. The front passenger side is at 24 5/8ths right now. I'd be happy with 23.5 I think so hopefully the 884s get me there. I'll also call ARB tomorrow and see what they think.

For anyone in the future wondering: I spoke with ARB and they stated the new 2885s are designed to give a 5th gen 4runner 3 inches of lift WITH a bumper and winch. So basically with no extra weight in the front of mine I got around 3.5 plus the 1/4th spacer gave me around half an inch which is why I ended up with measurements over 24 inches in the front.

I have ordered the 2884 (designed to give stock 5th gen 3 inches of lift) and will be putting it on this Friday and removing the spacers for now.
 
Finally got the lift squared away and now the abs light and Trac light are on with the 4x4 light blinking. I have a strong feeling it's the abs wire which is very common but toyota keeps saying it's the wheel speed sensor and they want $550 for it.
