So being a new 4r owner, I am not to keen on where to go around San Diego to actually have some fun with my rig. I have found/been taken to a couple of OK spots but they weren't all that great. And I know i see a LOT of runners around here....where are you guys at? It would be great to hook up with other local owners and actually get this thing dirty and see what its capable of. Or if anyone just knows of some decent spots around here....by all means let me know. Thanks.

Lawrence welk trail is a good spot. A lot of people call it deer springs trail too. I'll let you know next time I head out. What about tomorrow? I'll see if I can get a few people to go.

Dude... you have to go to Anza Borrego. The short trip will be worth it. Plan to go a couple times cause you'll never run out if land to explore.

I agree about the coached not really knowing you. I do think they were making a strong effort near the end. With a group that big it is hard to get to know everyone. I would only suggest a social event every couple weeks. We had a pasta feed near the end and it really is weird to see people you have seen all year dressed as normal people and not sweaty and gross.

Escondido here. I mainly go to Borrego to wheel, it's just massive. THat and the surrounding desert can take years to explore. Sadly desert season is almost at an end 
I live right near deer springs and not been! Would like to try that out. Also up north an hour is Santiago Peak. Though it is open closed, open, closed, search the site here for current conditions and more info.
Summer is mostly driving to the mountains to camp and hike, not a LOT of wheeling in the mountains locally, but up in the Eastern Sieras there is tons available on longer trips.
