SantaCruzRunner's Build thread.

well what ever you do get a set of rims with negitive off set, that way you save money on wheel spacers, you can get a set of general grabbers too like i have those do pretty do for how much they cost.

Are you set on a mud terrain? They look bada$$, but will be heavier, worse gas mileage, louder and wear quicker. I'd say Duratracs, BFG AT's, General Grabbers, Hankook or Falken. Those will be great for a DD and aggressive enough for the wheeling trips you'd go on.

no i dont really want a M/T, just an aggressive enough A/T. I will most likely go for the BFG's. I really like the Goodyear MTR's though. Im also looking at rims like these pro comps: http://www.procompusa.com/prodDetai...3&catID=11&subCat=209&ptID=100021&plID=100347

I know what you mean about an aggressive AT. I really like the look of BFG's on our 4runners. Also those rims are steel and will be heavier and cause you to lose power/MPG. The MTR's are sick, but will be loud and the ride isn't the greatest for a DD, plus they are expensive.

looks like im leaning towards BFG's. My dad loves the M/T versions so he might want me to get those. What would you recomend for rims? I just realized how scratched mine are and dont feel like repainting them!

I'm not trying to talk you out of a mud terrain. They are awesome on the trails and look mean, but in my experience aren't the greatest for a DD. For wheels it just depends on how much you want to spend. OEM are great, but most aren't 8 inches wide, which I prefer and like t4r4life mentioned they most likely will require spacers. That will put the price close to aftermarket wheels. I'm assuming you want black. There are a ton of options just depending on what style you like. KMC Enduros are sweet as well as the ProComp 7069 and 8069. Mickey Thompson makes some good wheels, but it boils down to your taste in wheels.

Just make sure if you go aftermarket to get 8 inches wide and 4.5" or lower backspacing.

Alright well im going to get some prices at Pasillas tires. Dont think im going for M/T's. just not needed right now. Got a good list written down, going to see what they got.

I think that's a smart decision. No need for the MT's if it's your DD, but they do look mean...

Got quoted 240/tire BFG AT's 270 for Goodyear MT/R's 203 for general grabber AT2's and 240 for Goodyear duratracs all include mounting and balancing and taxes.

Well im going for the Goodyear Duratracs!! Discount tire is having a great deal right now with a $60 mail in rebate $850 out the door!
