Santiago Peak Trail report, 7-2-16

My son and I drove the dirty Runner up to the towers at Saddleback Peak today. Since Maple Springs is closed we entered at the Ortega Highway. Nice day , light traffic on the fire road, a few nutjob jeep drivers. 2wd for most of the drive. A few ruts that required a stock height 5th Gen to be line selective.

Good day, tons of flies up there everywhere .

That's the word. Haven't seen any trail reports yet though.

is this something I can do w/ the wife and small child? lol wife hates it when we bring our son cause he just bounces around in his car seat. Everyone says this is fairly easy, with a decent view at the top. If so, I plan to hit this Saturday or Sunday.

The trail is really mellow. Windy fire road the whole way up. Be sure to look for mountain bikers on the way up/down
