That is nice, bit rich for my blood right now but with less than 100K and set up like that it is a better deal than most 4 runners I have seen around here for that price or more.

I picked mine up for $4,300.00 less than that but mine had 157K on it.

Never been offroading huh? Why own a 4runner that cost more and handles worse than stock if you don't offroad it?

Probably because a solid axle is the best way to get the height he wanted. What makes you think it rides worse than stock? I know it's a different animal, but the ride was 10 times better after I SAS'd my 1st gen.

Good find man. Why would someone blow that much money and not sure it though?

37's sure do look good on 4runners. :bigok:

I remember once FlexINC took a photo of this truck.

It may have been. Maybe he just did if for looks, but that's seems like a lot of money and time to improve looks. Plus you can get those 6" fabtec tacoma lifts to if you are looking for height in the front at a must lower cost.

Well typically, a solid axle vehicle will ride worse because say you hit a pothole on one side, there will be an upward reaction imparted to the other side of the vehicle. An ifs vehicle will not transfer a reaction force to the other side as easily. In an ifs vehicle, each side is relatively isolated which improves ride quality and performance. There is a reason why most vehicles have ifs now.

yea, when saying it never gets stuck is most likely a selling point. if you go and look at it, he could be telling the truth that its never been offroad. all you gotta do is check out the underside not hard. even if someone pressure washed a rig underneath that has seen some offroad, you could still tell easily

really wish i could purchase this thing

The reason why most Cars/SUVs are IFS now is because silly Soccer Mom's constantly complained about ride quality. So, they tried to appease the general public with a more comfortable ride.

That being said, a properly setup and tuned offroad suspension will handle and ride BETTER than stock in all ways.

The 4runner above is way too tall IMO, but if the suspension geometry was setup correctly, it will likely drive down the road just as it did before. With that height though, I will assume that it will have a good amount of body roll in corners. I wish the seller would add a lot more pertinent info to the ad though. Things like the type of axle used, more about the suspension, etc. I would bet that he just doesn't know a lot about it. A setup like that took A LOT of work and fabrication. So, it would help his sale to have more info on it.

With my current 4runner, the ride IMO is better than stock. Even over potholes, speed bumps, boulders, cars, people, etc.

I would ass-u-me its a Waggy 44, doesn't look wide enough to be anything bigger. Hard to tell but other than being way too tall it looks like it was done right.
