No one told me that there is salt in the water that stains my paint! I went to wash off the mud today, and just the surface stuff came off. At home, EVERYTHING would come off, and I'd be fine. but now it looks like I'll have to polish my entire rig/buff it??
I dislike this, since winter is coming and I don't have funds or time to work on this.

It'll fade. The clay in the mud is what leaves a film. After a couple rains and washes, it'll be back to normal. It does that to mine every time.
I do however, go through and do a polish, seal and wax once a year. Let me know if you want to do it before snow comes, I use the heated garage at work.
