Savage sliders w/ kickout on 99 Limited

Very happy with the way the turned out and though I would share.

I did have to notch out the bottom of my front fender flare to get them tucked up right but that was it. Apparently he changed the angle of the flare to fit a bit better with all the different trims out there.

The angle is very low. Maybe 5-10 degrees. The slider is closest to the pinch weld at the rear wheel well. About 1/4". The rest of the slider is about 1/2" from the weld.

Painted myself with Rustolium 7271 Silver Metallic and self etching primer. Then clear coat. The paint is real close but not a perfect match. It is a little lighter and more metallic then the 4R trim.

Yes, good 'ole 7271. Thats where my search led.

You can also use Rustoleum Universal Hammered Silver (245219) if you're interested in the hammered look. That's what I used on mine.

will you please post a couple of close ups, maybe even extreme close ups? I was considering using Hammered and was ok with a bit of texture but did not want as much as I assumed the Hammered would create. Is it subtle?
Sprayed the brackets, plates, mounting areas of frame, and underside of legs with 3M rubberized undercoating after the installation. Looks to be durable. Hoping it negates the issue of chipping paint on the underside of the sliders as occurs from road grit.

FWIW: I used rubberized undercoating on the under side of my sliders. That was 5 years ago, and it is still holding up great.

It's overcast for the rest of the week so I won't be able to get any good shots until the sun comes out. Until then, if you go to the store and look at the cap on the paint can, the texture and color are identical.

so there is quite a lot of texture, eh?

I've used quite abit of the Rustoleum Hammered in black over the years. I would say you have alot of control over the texture. Thick and slow coats equals more texture. I usually stay pretty thin/light for multiple coats and don't think of it as really textured. It's not smooth/glass like for sure. Probably worth a test can to try on some clean scrap.
