Save Antman's Photos!

Ok we've reached our goal! All funds will go to Jeff to cover his photobucket issue and move to a new photo storage site or get the photos moved off of photobucket. This will cover him for a year so he can hopefully get it done. If anyone can possibly help him post up here. It's a huge task.

According to the donation site they will deposit the funds into my account in two business days. I will deliver a bank check to Jeff.

Holy Christ!!

I only have 19% of my photobucket filled (1839 photos thus far). How many photos does Antman have???

Very nice to see the community get together to save an intensive library of photos.

Many programs can re-size pictures.

I use Irfanview on Windows machines, its been around since Windows 3.1

A few PIA things about Irfanview. First is if you change an image, it doesn't ask you do you want to save it. Second is, can get a bit confusing with all the options on how to save it. Third is, if you click Save As instead of Save, its asks if you want to save the picture in the last folder you used, which might be totally unrelated.

One of the best things it has is batch resizing. It can take a whole folder of pics and resize them, either creating new ones or overwriting the old ones.

You can also put simple arrows, lines, circles on pictures, text is kinda hard to do with it.

If he needs help resizing the images, shoot me a message and I can help with that. I am a graphic designer and have access to programs that i can use to resize them via automation in batches. I can possibly help with updating the links as well.

After he gets the photobucket back up and running he will have a year to figure out how to get all the photos off of there and either host on a different site, or upload them directly here. It will be a huge task!
 
This is exactly why the 4Runner community is the best...amazing group of people willing to help each other out!

I have a TRD Pro on order...cannot wait to be apart of this amazing group of enthusiast! Congrats on saving Antmans thread!

slow process, but he can save and attach the pictures to each post as an attachment

Wow, I saw someone mention in another thread about funding, and log back in and it's over.

As to what you do with the photos. Any decent photo app will batch resize and rename.

So xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.jpg becomes....

Size of your choice file named say...
Folding Mirror Mod_1.jpg
Folding Mirror Mod_2.jpg

But between now and then he might want one of these as well.

Too bad I missed out on this donation thread until now, I would have gladly dipped into the monthly beer fund to help out.

I am on the same boat with Photo Bucket and their :censored: change in TOC's. I have been on Flickr now for a while, but I left all of my build thread links as my Photo Bucket account so I wouldn't have to change them. Looks like I am going back through everything and swapping to Flickr. It would be easier to pay, but I am not giving a dime to a company that without notice (at least not to me) changes their plans like that to force people to pay money to keep their photos "live". It'll take time, but it will all be reposted, maybe solely on my website for people to reference :thumb3:

I am waiting to send the "this is BS" email to Photo Bucket until I make sure I have all of those photos backed up! Ha!
 
Damn everybody- I just don't know what to say!

Honestly this photobucket crap couldn't have happened at a worse time for me- I really have no time for "extra stuff" right now- everything is on hold in my life except for the personal issue I am working through.

The support from everyone is unbelievable and overwhelming. It has touched me at a time in my life where I really need it. Many of you are like family to me and will be life-long friends- this is just another example of why.

Please understand if I am not on here much in the near future and it may take some time for me to respond to my massive PM box, lol.

I will do my best to restore the thread permanently - have a year!
