SAW vs OME rear coil springs

Trying to decide between the two which seem very similar (OME 895E and SAW 1.5). I am considering going up to the 2.5 setting on front Bilsteins and taking my rear coil spacer out and putting in the new rear coil springs. I keep about 100# of gear in the cargo area (no 3rd row) and occasionally tow a 2000# boat.

Seems the OMEs are closer to a 2" lift and much stiffer than the SAWs. I'm thinking the added height of the OMEs will be just a bit too much for my setup.

Alot of it is subjective. With the fronts all the way at 2.5", I think the 895E's would make it sit just about perfect and give you a little more weight carrying capability. I always prefer a slight forward rake because I can't stand when it squats ass low. But, some people absolutely have to have it level so if anything is put in the rear it will squat.

As far as ride, I ran the OME 898 heavies with zero weight in the rear of my rig for a couple years. It was a little stiff but I was able to live with it. Now, the heavy coils handle the weight of my CBI rear bumper and spare tire very well with minimal settling.

I ran the SAW for a year and a half before getting my rear bumper and swapping out to superflex HD. I thought the ride of the SAW was outstanding, at the time I had added skids, roof rack, and sliders. I have third row seating and came in just over 1.5" of lift. They handled a full fridge and truck full of gear and family very well. When I put the rear bumper on they actually still were decent, but I would get reverse rake fully loaded, hence the change. I have no experience with OME.

I have SAW and it rides great, but my front bilstein setting is at 1.75". I have some forward rake even with 3rd row. I prefer it that way to accomodate heavy loads. I will have a full load in the back and cargo box on top (400-500 lbs total) next week when I drive cross country. I think it will sit level with that kind of load. IMO, if you're setting the front at 2.5, go with the OMEs for a higher rating to compensate for heavy loads. Here's how my rig sits now.

stifler wanted me to tell you that he is a 2.5" with Dobinson's rear coils (1.75") and his rig looks perfect! He sold the SAWs to go this route

OLD STIFFY! Yeah, I thought he had the SAW setup a while back - I just heard of the Dobinson's coils the other day - I will check them out for sure.

Yes - I definitely want to keep an inch rake to compensate. Your stance looks on point! Thanks for the feedback
