Castle Rock is one of the places we are looking for houses.
Basically my Husband got a promotion and we have to relocate, so at the moment, I'm looking at corporate housing, but also looking for houses where the commute to DTC wouldn't bee too bad.

I called Gobi the other day about their racks. Very nice people on the phone and the lady was super knowledgable. Since I was local they offered me $100 bucks off and a free install at their shop in Aurora. They said the rack install is easy with two people, but even easier when sipping coffee and watching someone else do it. I think they also said they would throw in a free ladder, but I don't care for those.
I showed the pics to my girlfriend and she didn't care for the look of the basket style. We have a full length basket style rack on my Jeep Wrangler and reminded me how much I complain about things not fitting in it. Also the wind noise from the basket on my Jeep is
I think we are going to go with a flat rack similar to FrontRunner Strap-on or Grab-on. In the near term I have an extra set of Yakima bars and mounts that grab the factory rails. Thats free dollars for now and may get the rack before my next White Rim trip.

Thanks! Yea, I saw some Black Rhinos here at work, and when I went to the website and saw these, I had to have them.
Haven't seen them on any other vehicle yet...UPDATE: Changed username to Avalchfan since I'm not 'inPDX" anymore
BTW this is my new username. Decided not to bug 1Engineer to have my username changed as I only had 102 posts on Saxainpdx...

That blue really is a nice color!! Haven't actually seen one in the wild where I am yet. I've got silver. I love the TOYOTA wordmark badge on the TRD (I think?). I've been trying to figure out a classy way to de-chrome mine since it's already silver. I wish there wasn't TWO strips of chrome on the front bumper- doesn't look bad at all on black or blue but with silver it's a bit much to me. Maybe I'll play with some plasti-dip.
Question- why did you go down to 18" wheels? I'm a new gal here, so I'm figuring it's better for offroading. I cannot decide whether to just go ahead and do Terra Grapplers (I know it's not approved officially) and leveling kit w OEM wheels or bite the bullet and get new wheels too. Dammit Toyota for making me want to buy all the things. And for real Toyota dammit on the stupid 7" wheels on an offroad vehicle.
(Already upgraded to OEM 2in1 LED DRLs, XD LED lo and hi beam kit, ceramic tint on all glass, Weathertech mats, rear weather mat from Amazon) on sliding cargo tray.
Bottom line; gorgeous build!! I'm envious

Nice build John! Came from your link on Front Range 4x4 to see your 5th gen build. I usually hang out in the 4th Gen forum but come hear to see the newer stuff once in a while.
Thanks! Not sure why I went with the 18's. Should have went with 17's, but for some reason, got it in my head I wanted 18's. Same tires for 17's appear to be cheaper. And for not staying with the 20's, I think it was more expensive and harder to find the wheels I wanted in 20". Most people go with TRD wheels, and you can usually find them on ebay or here I think for about 600-700 for 4 of them. Mine were $215 each from Les Schwab. Can get cheaper from Discount Tire or Tirerack.com. I think the tires were 400 each or so. Bill came to $2800 for tires and wheels. And I sold the 4 Limited wheels to the guy I bought the truck from for $750, so that helped.

Went 4wheeling up at Tyee Lookout in Entiat, Wa a couple of months ago, and keep forgetting to upload here..
1st is pic from my new drone of the 4runner. Was still learning how to fly, and on top of a windy mountain with a cliff on 2 sides was a little unnerving

Looking SE or so from Tyee Lookout down the Entiat Valley. Lots of fires over the years so not alot of green trees left. Columbia River is just this side of the farthest ridge/plateau.
Have been busy after moving to Colorado and haven't had time to go exploring too much. Will try to get this thread migrated/renamed..

I'm sure it's been hectic with your move. I'm just wondering if you've had a chance to go off road, yet, with your new mods.
Also, how are you liking the ride on road?
Thanks! Will keep a lookout for you in the area. I work in DTC, so on 470 or Arapahoe during usual work hours. We live in the Forest Trace neighborhood, just South of the mall.
Love the ride on the road. Handles 470 at 75-80 great, although since the rack was installed, I do get some noise. I think it is the toolbox mounted on top. It is locked, but the lid still rattles a bit.
Haven't been off road down here yet. Only time I really had it offroad was in the pics above in Entiat, Wa in July. Performed wonderful up on the larger rocks in the road to the lookout.
Hopefully this next year we can go exploring more around here.

Oh you're just a couple miles down the road. I'm in Tollgate Crossing just north of the mall. I moved over there from the Littleton area and I see way more modified 4Runners and Tacomas in our area now.
