I've been a member for awhile. But I finally now have my 4runner l, a 2006 Sport V8 4wd. I have owned a 90' sr5 w/3.slow, 95 w/22re 5speed, and 08 FJ cruiser 6sp. Love it. It just feels right to be back in a runner again.

Wish I could help, I live in southern maine and this is my first vehicle i've been able to off road, so if you find anything let me know as I no of nothing around portland area yet.

I Live a bit more north in the mountains, but there are a few trails (some call them roads but they are fun to play with truck features, and it is 100% legal as they are actually labeled as roads. I am still learning about others but they hold a massive Jeep Jamboree here in town every year and they trail run for three days, so there has got to more that I need to find out about.

Do any of you Mainers know of a reasonable powder-coater, I would like to get the TE stock rims blacked out but with our road conditions i want powder-coat not paint? appreciate any and all ideas.

I had Coated rims on my last 3 Tacomas and they were amazing! unfortunately they would not fit on my new T4R. Any leads you have would be great

Old thread - just moved to Maine and stumbled across this... I'm from the west coast desert and never had to worry about salt on the road. I'm talking to a shop about cleaning up the undercarriage and coating or painting it - what do you folks recommend? I've got a 99 that's in rough shape, but I love it and plan on keeping it running for a long time if I can... rolled it once, still kickin' :rockon:

So - should I just clean underneath and throw some rustoleum on there? or is there some benefit to powder-coating? Or is that just for your rims...
