Scion H.U. T10004

JBL took a Poop. Scored a Brand New Scion T10004 H.U. Now I need to figure out what Harnesses I need for the JBL. Saw it here somewhere. Gota figure out how to get my CD's out of the JBL too. I will try to remove the top while its still plugged in to free up the stuck components.:bluejump:

Buckles I missed out on your H.U. Saw this on CL and Score. Brand New. Now to figure out what Harnesses I do have and see what else I may need. No Part #'s on these. I apologize this is all New to me. I have been trying to read as many threads as I can to figure how to do this Swap and Busy all weekend. Found 2 part #'s in searching it sounds like I need. Thanks and any help appreciated. Damn JBL.

Not sure what the top one is. But the middle is the antenna adapter and the bottom is the 28 pin adapter. I used both of the bottom ones and a third one for bluetooth. I know for a fact that the Bluetooth won't work unless you have the mic plugged in.

Looks like the Top 1 plugs in next to the RCA Plugs. Have to figure out what its for. Thanks for the Help Buckles.

That should be the usb harness. You will still need another part from toyota to actually be able to plug a usb into it. It's a proprietary connection that only the toyota extension will fit into.

If the factory JBL headunit crapped out then, i remember reading somewhere that the jbl wire harness wont work on a scion headunit even with the adapaters. My non jbl need the GM metra y adapter antenna and another adapter to make the antenna work, the adapter pictured above. The usb port has yet to work but who cares i have bluetooth.

Thanks to the Guys at Audio Express. They Claim they have No Clue on how to make the Scion Unit work or what I need to make it Work. They said it wouldn't Work at all. But He can get me in a Double Din for a Fraction of what i Paid for the T10004. So I dont by a Unit from them so F Off. Thanks for the Help Guys.:help:

trying to do this, but with a T10015 (scion pioneer touchscreen...seems like std equip on 2014-15).

does this HU have an internal amp? wondering if we can just wire the signal directly to the JBL amp and be good? can it be that easy?

There has to be a way to make this work. I need to get These Electronics Whiz Kid's to Help. If they can Jam a Football game or Presidential Address they can install a Stereo.

check to see if your stereo has an internal amp in it or not. also hook it up and see what voltage the speaker outs put out.

i am not an audio wiz, but those are some of the basic questions that need to be answered from my understanding. from there we can figure out what is needed.

I tried the same thing as you. I took the exact description to audio express in Richmond, VA. They said that they could figure it out, and would have it ready for me in two days. I come back, and they said they tried, but couldn't get it to work. I luckily bought the scion head unit for $45 bucks. I spent hours searching for an answer to see if I could do it myself. Found some guy who said he got it to work in his tundra, but he had no description of how he did it, and was no longer a member on the site. I decided to buy a pioneer double din unit that was on sale, and I couldn't be happier. It did however cost twice as much as the scion head unit would have if they could have gotten it to work.

i was looking at wiring diagrams last week and have been meaning to make a post. seems like the scion unit outputs to each speaker (FL +/-, FR +/-, RL +/- and RR +/-) whereas the JBL has only has outs for each side (L +/-, R+/-) that goes to the amp and the amp separates the signal to all the speakers. i was wondering how one would go about taking the output from the scion and making into the single sided inputs for the JBL amp.

could you just take the front outs from the scion unit and wire them to the JBL amp and be good? is there any difference between front and rear signals to speakers? if i recall correctly all the other outs are the same, would just need a little swapping around im sure.

I am Starting to think its Not Going to work. I know someone has done it just can't find the Thread anywhere. Its A Shame the H.U. Is So Nice. Im wondering if ripping out the BS JBL kaka is better than trying to work with it. Damn You JBL.:50cal:

Talked to Multiple Audio shops in the Area. All said this system will NOT Work with the JBL Synthesis system at all. Not Good...

as stated in my PM....wont work b/c there are not any PnP harness, or wont work because they tried to trace the wires and make a custom harness and it still did not work?

There are no PnP setups to do this, it will be a custom job. i have no issue soldering or repining, i just might need a little help with the pre-amp voltage, if that is even an issue between the JBL and non-JBL.

it is well known that a jbl will not work in a non-jbl on toyota forums, but i have always read it is because there is no harness. so either the companies do not want to make a harness, there isnt enough money in it, or it straight up doesnt work.

i guess i am one of those guys that keeps asking "why not" until i am proven there is absolutely no way to solve an issue. its my engineering mindset...!
