Scion Head Unit HELP

So the other day I decided to order a ScionT1809 on ebay to replace my factory head unit. I found one on the bay and made an offer. It was listed as a T1809 and had a picture of one.

Well my package came today and it turns out they sent me a T1819. Im a little pissed as it looks nothing like the T1809, and the tag on this one even states "Says T1809 on face" which it clearly does not.

So my question is, should I keep this one, or return it and have them send the correct unit? I was mainly buying the T1809 because it is plug and play and it has some nice features that my stock unit does not.

Will this unit still be plug and play???

Well I found the answer to my own question. It's not plug and play. Had to order a new harness and antenna adapter from Toyota. Oh we'll, hopefully it works when I'm done.

I may have spoke too soon. I just picked my harness and adapter up from the dealership and im not sure they are going to be the right ones. It may require a little modification/splicing. Ill let you know for sure when I get off work this afternoon and try to install it.

Ok. Looks likes they worked. You will need the PT546-74120-MC to make the Bluetooth work. Right now that's the only function can't use.

Btw the antenna adapter only has one plug, our 4runnera have two. I just used the bigger of the two and it works fine. Perfect reception both am and fm.

Here is the finished product. What I thought was going to be a huge head ache turned out pretty good.



$110 for the T1819
$75 for the antenna adapter and 28 pin harness

I still need to order the Bluetooth mic to use the bluetooth function, but for right now its great. Ive got a functioning cd player and HD radio that looks factory.

Just need to remove that scion logo now.

That does look good. Does that head unit have more power than the jbl factory head unit? Are the buttons on that unit lit up in blue or orange?

It definitely sounds like it has more power. The buttons light up a reddish orange. It's not quite the same as the stock 4runner but its not too much of a difference.
