scion HU?? Error-1 on factory HU

I've searched for this for a while and cant find a definite answer that im looking for. I have a 03 Limited with JBL 6-disc in dash. My HU has the "error-1" which i read in my manual that it thinks the CD is in wrong or upside down, which it isn't. So I was thinking about maybe going with one of the Scion HU's but i really need to know what works with my car that's plug and play, and still lets the steering wheel controls work. Any help or info would be much appreciated!!

They were made 3 years ago, i was hoping for some up to date info, and maybe info that doesn't contradict itself in every other post.

well I found a used JBL factory head unit just like the one I have for $50 online so im going with that.
