Scion HU

ptgarcia - I think you can get a splitter to use both. I don't know the part# but I think it's been posted before.

Flo4run - I don't think the '03-05 HUs are wma compatible.

I know the 06 scion HU is .wma compatible. Does anyone know for sure that the 03-05 scion HU is or is not .wma compatible.

My '05 Scion 6-disc unit won't recognize WMA files.

And for the price I paid, $269, it was well worth it, to have it running from my steering wheel, have clear clean sound, and be able to use all the equalizer options of the Scoin radio with the XM.

What dealer did you order it from?? I just bought an '05 Scion HU from ebay.

Thanks, mochoajr

i bought 2 on ebay, the regular 06 version with the knob in the middle for 86 shipped, and the ipod model with the 2 knobs for 100 shipped. i guess i got pretty good deals. I sold the regular one for 130something

How do you change the wake up screen from SCION to something elese on a 2006 Scion HU? There is no "A" key like the 2005 model.

does anyone have the part number or anything??

good lord, there's one of the ipod scion head units on ebay right now for $440 + shipping!!

isn't that sort of ... overly expensive? the scion website itself says the price should be around $260 new!

I just installed my '05 Scion HU and it sounds great! Definitely worth the upgrade!

I got mine of ebay for $55.00

does anyone know if the 3-knob 06 scion head unit with ipod capabilitiees will work in our 4runners?

i was on the scionlife forums and someone posted the following about it:

---

r0cky, make sure that your friend's car is a 2006, because the iPod feature won't work in the '04 or '05 Scions. The Color-change & knobs will of course work, but the iPod function requires a harness that is built into the '06 Scions @ the factory, the '04 & '05 Scions don't have the harness.

---

so, that's about scions of course, but does it also mean that our 4runners don't have the necessary "harness" to make the ipod feature work? in other words, does it make it so that there's no point in getting the 3-knob, ipod head unit instead of the regular cheaper one?

The 4Runner doesn't have the harness, but I'm sure the iPod features can be made to work with some custom wiring.

Settings

This weekend I finally put in the adapter to run a rear sub from my Scion HU. When putting everything back together I realized that all my settings went back to default. Not being able to locate my manual I has able to use this threat to change the greating back to 4Runner. However, I remember you could change the model Scion which made a world of differnt to the sound (xA, xB, or tC). However, I can't find how to do this again anybody know.

If I recall correctly, you push/hold the silver SSP button which is above (and a bit to the left of) the volume buttons ...
