Scored a cheap New Hi-Lift jack!

Because of the sliders that I have had on order (forever!) I have been shopping for a Hi-Lift jack, 48" long.

4Wheel Parts has had lots of bait-and-switch deals and there are lots of Chinese "Farm" hi lift jacks on EBay. Hi Lift has the "extreme" series as well all cast iron, but for as little as I will use the jack I figured that a steel and cast model would be fine and save me a little. Even with cheap web prices you'll pay $15 to $20 for shipping on a $59 jack because of the 30 pound weight.

A quick Google led me to Craig's list and I scored a brand spanking new steel/cast model for $40, just 5 miles from my house! The thing still had the instructions wired to the handle and all of the Hi-Lift wrappings.

The guy had bought a H-2 a while back and had to sell it and was going through his garage, selling off all of the accessories that he had bought.

Now if Hanna-Q would just ship me the darned sliders....

I was hoping to catch up with Ken (Hanna) yesterday while I was at Pismo Beach but he was on firefighting duties (his main job) so bad luck for me. I wanted to buy some new U-Bolts.

I have to get them mailed instead. Oh well!

Good luck catching him! I started trying to buy sliders back on May 15th. It has been a long, painful process and right now I am still waiting to see if he'll actually deliver and if they'll fit properly

Remember this is not Ken's primary occupation and this time of year (summer) is his busiest for firefighting. As I understand he does very little work in the shop during summer except for the race trucks he cares for.

He emailed me Sunday am to say he could not catch up on Sat. while I was in Pismo. He gave me a price for the parts and shipping as I had asked. I wanted 2 day shipping as we are heading out to the Sierras next weekend.

He is a really really nice guy but extremely busy with his real job (firefighter). He said he was going to be in the shop Monday so maybe call him.

He does ship around the country. It would have to be expensive due to the weight. Where in SoCal are you? He is in SLO which is about 20mins from Pismo Beach. I went to him to collect my sliders which he fitted for me while I waited.

I orderd mine last month. Ken estimated 4 weeks. But that may have been pre-wildfires. I'm also looking for a hi-lift, off-road base plate, wab-fab adapter, and roof mount.

The one and only time that Ken actually called me he struck me as honest and sincere. I have personally seen that his product quality is superb.

I think that he should advertise his business as "Part-TIme" and that acquiring his product could take up to 10 weeks. I started trying to place an order before May 31st. Response time to e-mail and phone calls was extremely slow and sporadic. My first check to him was lost, the first time I have ever had a check lost in the mail in 34 years. I PayPal'ed the next payment on July 28th and am now waiting all over again. If there are any more hiccups I will cancel this order and go with Shrockworks.
