SCS wheel fitment question for those that have them

Thinking of ordering some SCS wheels and selling my TRD Pro wheels. Just lifted the truck 2.5/1.5 (stock UCA's) and still running stock size tires in a BFG TA/KO. Would like to step up to a 285, either Nitto or BFG.

My concern is the 8.5" wheel with a -10mm offset. For those of you that own this wheel, what tire are you running and how much mods were required to make it work? Not concerned about fender liner mods or mudflap but would like to avoid BMC.

I know there's an entire thread on tire fitment but I'd like to hear from people that are actually running the SCS wheels and what their experience was.

Thanks!

I run stock size Falken Wildpeak 265s on 17" Ray 10s. Since they are 32s, I only had to do fender liner mod. With the wheeling I do, I didn't need the 285s. I DO wish I went with E rated tires for peace of mind but I havent had any problems with them.

You should be good. You will have to move the front fender liner forward and trim a little. Also remove mud flaps, but shouldn't need a BMC.

Any pictures of the 265’s on the SCS? I’d rather not buy new tires. I like the 275 size but I don’t want an E tire.

I had SCS F5 in that size and offset with 265 KO2 at one point. They rubbed the front inner fender only and it was easy to fix. I was at 1.5" on my 6112 back then, too. When I switched to 285's I bumped the lift up to 2.5", got upper arms, and had to remove the mudflaps and do the BMC to get full compression while turning without rubbing. Hope that helps.

I'm running BFG KO2 275/70-17s on my SCS Stealth6s, 2.5/1.5 lift with stock UCAs. Had to trim some of the fender liners and removed the front mud flaps. I could have heated them up and pushed that "bump" in, but I decided to just remove them. No BMC.

Im running SCS SR8 wheel with 285/70/17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers in a C series. I have 6112 Bilsteins set at 2 in. A Toytec 1/2 in spacer on top and a 1in Toytec body lift. SPC UCA set at 4+ caster. I still rubbed drivers side body mount occasionally. Rubbing to me is not something to call good. I did a very minor trim to very front of mount. All good now and I still run mudflaps (Front flaps modified a smidge) all around. All of our 4runners are different.

17x9 -38 F5’s on 2.5” Front lift and 2” rear lift and 285 KO2’s. A good bit of front bumper and fender liner trimming. Also trimmed the body mount. Removed mud flaps. No issues.

17x8.5 -10 with 285s would be easy to fit. 265's would be almost no work.

I have to run a +3.8-4 caster and did some fender liner adjustments and took a little off the OEM front bumper cover. Cycled great this way

I've managed to avoid a BMC for a long time, but it's time to say goodbye now. I wouldn't worry about it.

I’m running 1” BORA spacers now and am getting a rub at full lock in reverse probably on the front bumper.

If I do it I’ll stick to a “smaller” 33 like the C range BFG or Nitto Terra Grappler.

I ran 285 BFGs with 1.75" BORA spacers (see picture) on stock TRD OR wheels and 2.5" lift which would end up being about .5" more aggressive than your TRD PRO wheels with 1" BORA spacers. All I did was relocate fender liner and trim the front bumper. Had zero rubbing.

I actually get asked A LOT if I'm on 285s. I think its the combo of a slightly larger than stock AT3Ws, poppy gold, and black "beadlock"

Wheel width and offset makes or breaks a tire size too. Wider wheel with more aggressive stance usually makes the tires appear much bigger. Looks killer btw.

Well, forget it. They had a new batch come in and availability started at 6pm tonight pacific time. Tried to buy them on my phone at 6:10 and it wouldn't work. Got home from work and went online at 6:30 and the dang things are already sold out. Ridiculous. What a marketing scheme that you can get people that worked up to buy made in Taiwan wheels.

I run 295/70R17 MTZP3 on SR8s with a 3/2 suspension, 1" BL and had to chop a lot, including BMC but WELL worth it
