Search function problems ?

This is not just a problem on the 4runner.org forum - most forums I visit seem to have similar problems.
When I type into the search window: "rear sag", why do I get hundreds of hits, none of which have anything to do with the requested topic?
What has a saggy rear got to do with T4R and Firearms? - or battery choices?

No matter what I search for, it is very hard to find threads that deal with the topic, from the page after page of suggestions that come up on my screen.

What am I doing wrong?

Forget the search box.

Use either Google or choose advanced search from the dropdown menu.

Thanks JB - I will try that in future. I do think, however, that if you are going to put a search button up there, it ought to have at least basic functionality. I mean, what does that button actually do?

if you use the search correctly, its not so bad.

if you are searching for rear sag, make sure and use the drop down menu and choose "search titles only" this will help to filter out a LOT of the unwanted trash. this will get you only threads that have "rear sag" in the title.

Advanced search doesn't give that option either.

I've been having issues with the Search Function myself. It seems to have a weird algorithm because even when trying to narrow down via advanced functions it still doesn't pop up relevant threads and in some cases threads that have no mention of the key words I used!

When you use the google method and search "BlackWorksInc" a LOT of T4R.org stuff comes up...:redface: kind of embarassing...

I am using an iPad
